You could be right because ironically Maryland's best player Kaylene Smikle is a Rutgers transfer. Smikle was Rutgers leading scorer for the past two seasons and she left the team after having an altercation with a teammate. It looks like at Rutgers, Coach Washington has an issue with her star players and chemistry. Maryland plays Southern Cal tomorrow at home and we get to see Smikle and Juju play against each other.

Maggie Vanoni

Geno Auriemma says Paige Bueckers has a knee sprain. Nothing torn or seriously damaged. Her ankle is fine but sore. He’s hoping she’ll be back in a week.He says she wasn’t involved in drills this week. He adds it’s a similar situation to what Azzi Fudd had in December

Thx Cory. Kitts and Feagin will need to pick up the slack down low now. SC will probably use more 3-4 guard sets in the future. Edwards will also see more minutes now obviously. It’s a big loss however, esp defensively. SC will still have nine solid rotation players, but getting thin in the post with quality defense. Watkins was so hard to shoot over.

Yep. Time for Tac to step up off the bench. She's been getting better lately but she's gonna have to play a bigger role now. Agree?

I see Tac’s role increasing, so I agree. She might need to give 10-15 minutes a game from here forward. She isn’t close to Watkins on defense yet, but she has upside for sure. With increased minutes we should see more out of Kitts also.

They do an athletic competition each fall early in camp to decide the best athlete on the team in quickness, speed, agility, timing and elevation. At 6’4 Watkins tied Fulwiley on the team for best athlete. She was only fractionally behind Fulwiley in speed and quickness.

No NIL jealousy at UConn towards Paige Bueckers. Last month for Christmas she and Nike gifted her teammates some of her new Nike merchandise including her new signature sneakers. Yesterday, she and Nike gifted brand new iPhones to all her teammates. She has said that she is blessed and feels so happy that she gets to play the game she loves. Some of you don't like her because she is from UConn, but in spite of that she is a really good person. We love her for the person she is, and not just her basketball talents.

Both are top tier athletes in WBB.
Watkins is an elite defender. Hoping for a full recovery for her.
