Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

I haven’t seen anyone say the team has reached its ceiling. Especially in January. Ever.

I don’t know what you’re argument is… because if people are saying Tennessee “can’t” achieve this or that this year which is all down the threads on this forum it’s basically inferring that this team is as good as it’ll be so either way the point stands.

This is true.

South Carolina
TENNESSEE
Texas
Lsu
Oklahoma
After watching Texas today, my quick thoughts on their future game with the LV’s……LV’s need to keep them off the boards as much as possible, they are relentless on offensive boards. If not for a bad shooting day against SC it would have been a game.

I think after watching the Texas/SC game today that I cannot take away from the outcome as much as I would like. The rebounding disparity and shots taken disparity were alarming, but the SC Ladies found a way through those deficiencies to get a convincing win. Was a weird stat game, the rematch in Austin should be intense.

Their center is a beast on the boards. I believe she had like 5 on one possession in the 1st quarter

That was Oldacare, she can be a load to block out, she is good on the boards.

I am a bit alarmed that TX got 79 shots to SC’s 51…..you don’t win many games with that stat if you are SC or any team for that matter. SC needs to work on that, Texas owned the offensive boards.

Commentary on the UCLA men's coach calling his players soft and delusionary. One member of the ESPN panel members I found interesting. With players being paid big money coaching them is different, they may resemble NBA style of play, as in soft, or believing they will soon be NBA stars. the point being made is that coaching semi-pros who may again be in the portal, requires a different style. With social media, (the Rutgers player who announced to her media fans that she wouldn't be playing) and their NIL funding - another issue in womens coaching.

BTW are you aware that PHS once took away the cellphone of the players for a week, she also removed them from their locker room for lack of effort. fast forward 2025, which of the two would not be tolerated today!
