Did you know these two grew up in Columbia as gamecocks and fans of Dawn Staley? They've been recruited by Dawn since middle school. They play in front of families and friends who attend every game. The local news and TV stations carry interviews with their family members who love and support Dawn Staley. Both young ladies have very lucrative deals through the Garnet Trust and Garnet Trust funds don't transfer to other schools. These ladies are highly invested in their community and hold basketball camps and workshops for youth in Columbia each summer. We all know about Dawn's success rate in getting her players into the WNBA and both of these are draft locks. Playing time is not an issue in Dawn's system as both receive huge national exposure. So what evidence do you have that these two would give up their hometown, family and community support to play elsewhere?

Exactly....and Joyce is the same way. These are South Carolina girls who grew up in the metropolitan area around Columbia. None of them are going anywhere. Saxon and Amihere were bench players and they both got drafted. Coming off the bench at South Carolina is better than being a starter at most schools.

She may lose a player to the portal, but she will offset that. You do realize that players will run to South Carolina to play for Dawn. There was a poll taken during the NCAA tournament a few years ago (I'm thinking 2023). The poll asked the players...."if you could play for any other coach rather than your own, who would you choose." Dawn got almost every players vote. Geno got a few and Mulkey got maybe 2 or 3. Dawn almost swept the poll.

They were bench players....that is exactly what the example is. Geez....you try to belittle 2 bench players getting drafted and one in the first round. They are still on teams in the WNBA and there are not many that can say that....wow.

Already starting to move away from love for any coach to who has the best NIL deals. NIL money is going to do the recruiting for a lot of players in the coming seasons.

I could never understand why anyone gives a crap about what 2 consenting adults do. I couldn't care less about a man/man or woman/woman marriage. It has nothing to do with me and I have enough of my own crap to deal with in this idiotic world without trying to tell someone else what they should or should not do with their life. Geez....

A little over 2 hours until SEC games start…I’m very interested to see what Bama can muster at home as they try to keep alive their 11 game home winning streak. They will need to live or die by the three imo. I’m leaning towards a lower scoring game, prob on both sides. 74-61 SC
