Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Furman is turning into our family school! Absolutely wonderful for an academically inclined kid looking for a small school environment. Greenville is really cool!
I have never seen a more beautiful campus than Furman University. It's a planned campus as the original university was downtown and they moved to their present location in the 1950's. So they have the benefit of matching architecture. Landscaping is incredible and what a nice touch with the old bell tower from downtown on an island in the middle of the lake. My brother-in-law taught math there for many years as well as a cousin who taught Spanish. For me it was Furman or Wofford but my mother being a strong Methodist won out. Living on campus in grad school at SC turned me into a gamecock.

Back in 2017 I happened to be doing some work in Greenville and was staying there for a few weeks. Ended up being able to watch a day of the SEC tournament. Really nice area and nice stadium.

Ironically I got to see both Miss. State and both SCar play. That was the year Miss. State upset UConn in the FF and then SCar beat them for their first title. Even so ... still glad I got the chance to see them play!
SC dodged a bullet by not having to play UConn. We were however a much improved team after Coates' injury which allowed Aja her space to operate.

Great history! Thanks!
Cousin’s kiddos went there and now a great niece has them on her list to visit!
My take is it is a well respected degree.

Texas bigs man. Strack just fouled out w only 1 shot attempt and Key also has 4 fouls. They are just way too slendar for the heft of Oldacre and Jones. Can't believe how good Oldacre is playing, making a huge difference.

I mean, I could see Texas stringing together 6 wins to end the season if they were to come with all their strengths. When they're all clicking they're tough.

I’ve been to Furman a few times, it is a beautiful campus. If you ever want to take it to another level, visit the US Military Academy at West Point, it’s literally breathtaking. I’ve been to Duke, Stanford, Harvard, Yale and Cornell to name some of the most impressive campuses, nothing compares to West Point. You just have to see it to believe.
