I have never seen a more beautiful campus than Furman University. It's a planned campus as the original university was downtown and they moved to their present location in the 1950's. So they have the benefit of matching architecture. Landscaping is incredible and what a nice touch with the old bell tower from downtown on an island in the middle of the lake. My brother-in-law taught math there for many years as well as a cousin who taught Spanish. For me it was Furman or Wofford but my mother being a strong Methodist won out. Living on campus in grad school at SC turned me into a gamecock.
