Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Which always pisses me off. Strong women make the world go round.

AMEN!

I’m not the biggest Kim fan, but I admire the success and longevity that coaches like her, Pat, Tara, Muffet, Stringer, Sylvia Hatchell, and Jody Conradt (I know I’m missing plenty...) were able to attain in a corner of the world that didn’t necessarily want them there.

😢😢😢 yikes that made me sad!

What could’ve been!!!

imagine having the #1, #2, and #3 recruit in one class.....I can’t help but to believe that would’ve happened in 2013 if Pat was still healthy. Russell, Davis and DeShields. 😩

Ouch...

Given that Boston has a nice faceup game, Dawn can easily move her to the high post and let Kamila play low post. That will be one hell of a dangerous frontcourt.

SC ain't messing around...

Guess you have to give them credit for going out and getting players regardless of who they have already. Who are the five that are not going to play much next season? Playing 10 is 20 minutes a player usually can't get below that and keep top players happy.

This impacts Saxton and Amihere for sure. I don't know if Feagin has the skillset to play the 3, but it will cut into her playing time too. Probably Grissette also.

yeah but we didn’t go after her because she couldn’t play with Tamari? I guess Dawn didn’t think the same.

She wasn’t coming to TN... she didn’t have them in her top when she left HS

I know we want these kids and maybe the new staff can change some minds but yall gotta remember some still remember the old regime

Boston is a way more versatile player than Key. She has range all the way to the 3 point line and a consistent mid-range jumper. She can move to the 4 while Cardosa plays the 5. The same cannot be said for Key.

It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out... they def have talent for sure.. What i do like is some of the posts on their radar may be doing other places now😎

Yeah, Cardosa completely changes their 2022 recruiting strategy with post players. I think that they'll still find a way to get local kid Watkins, but Nnaji has to be looking elsewhere now. If SC was leading for Janiah Barker, she might be thinking otherwise.

I'm sure it's a risk Dawn's willing to take for a player that she knows can play at this level.

i’m loving it because this shakes things up

I agree Boston is a more versatile player than Key she can step out and shoot the mid-range. But as you and some others have said Key is a weapon for TN and we need her, And as i have said before TN needs a elite 4 or 5 player from the class of 2022 to even come close to dealing with SC and right now they don`t have any.

Right now I bet Lele and Victaria are wondering how this affects their playing time.
Lele was unwise to come back if she was expecting to play as much as she did last year. SC only really went about 8 deep last season. They can legitimately go 13 deep and can probably do combinations where there will be minimal drop off between the first and second teams.

The portal is making WBB feel a lot like the NBA with these superteams. Talentwise, SC and UConn are in a class of their own.
