Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

I'm not upset with you and agree with the entire post, except for the last line. Realistically there is a lot you can complain about UConn. If playing in a weak league is all you have and you want to criticize, try a little harder. Come up with something that demonstrates your intelligence and insights into WCBB.
Look we are bitter and sad here. Mediocrity has been the standard here for many many years while UCONN, USC Jr, Stanford and a few more have lived at the top while leaving very few scraps for the rest of WCBB. We despise you all and yes I am a huge fan and love watching good WCBB games even if the Vols aren’t playing i do usually hope both teams I am watching lose.

Having tasted life at the top of wcbb, for an extended period of time, makes the last dozen years bitter indeed. Having to watch the deterioration of the program, at the hands of incompetent direction, was like having your blood slowly drained from your body. Having to endure multiple fiascoes (e.g. players physically fighting one another, having multiple highly ranked players transferred or dismissed) only added to our dismay. Some fans compensated by constantly reliving past accomplishments. Principally because the reality of the last decade is too unpleasant to acknowledge and is best forgotten. But now there is a light at the end of the tunnel. CKJH has, at the very least, stabilized the situation. How she recruits this year and next will be the deciding factor of the direction this program will be going.

To recruit at a higher level than her first two classes, she has to win at a higher level than her first two teams. The key to her recruiting will be increased winning, starting this season.

I agree. I think ‘22 will end up being a very good class(even better than the “consensus” number 9 ranking of the ‘21 class) and if we have a great season this year as I predict, then ‘23 should be the class that changes it all with regards to recruiting and the national conversation.

The turnaround has been evident in the first two seasons. I look forward to the third in an even less Covid impacting world I hope.

That's my whole point. You have no reason to be bitter right now. It's an exciting time to be a Lady Vol fan. You have a dynamic young coach who brings back the echo's of CPS. Each of the last recruiting classes has gotten better. the transfer outs have decreased and the transfer in seems like a great pick up. You are going to win more games this year than last year and finish higher in the SEC. You're probably going to get 2 more great recruits for 22 and 23 recruiting is going to be top 5. No CPS isn't here but her point guard who quarterbacked 3 national championships is. I honestly believe that if Pat heard some of your comments you would feel the full burn of the stare.

This has us predicted for sixth. Kentucky is predicted for conference runner up. That's the same program Darth_Vol said was desperate for quality recruits.
That was last season we finished third was projected for sixth so better than expected. Still waiting for a source everyone can accept to give out predictions for this season. We have one that said second but about half the posters thought that it was from a bad predictor.

We have our fair share of Flagellants who always believe we are not worthy of good rankings.

I thought it was for the 21/22 season, I should have looked more closely. Thanks for the good catch.

Not sure her personality is what we’re looking for.

I think she’s EXAAACTLY what we need. Having the mindset of not being out-worked (aka that dog mentality) is something we need. It’s a mentality that characterized a lot of Coach Summitt’s championship squads, IMO.

The right coach will be able to help her channel that energy in constructive ways.

Something else. Not the mindset. We do need that.
