It was Vic should have waited 2 more years lol but it doesn’t matter now anyway Texas is gonna be in the SEC soon

I’m going to try to watch today if I can find it. 23 attempts from 3 point land is what I expected. She’s totally change the offense and IMO that will be the death of them.

Appears Bickle did not play which makes them even thinner in the post. Gillispie played about 20 minutes but was not very productive against a much smaller team.

Outside of their starting five they really got nothing. Not a vote of confidence that their starters had to do all the heavy lifting against A&M commerce.

Only ten players and even in an exhibition game played three starter 30 minutes and overall 145 minutes of 200 were from the starters in an exhibition game. I think they are in for a rough ride this season.

I was reading the new espn article ranking the teams and gave an overview of the players and I did not know Iowa State started 3 freshmen last season anchored by of course all American Ashley Joens were those freshmen highly ranked lol they did pretty well last season even beat Baylor this made me think about our freshmen and we know Kellie isn’t apprehensive to starting freshmen she did it at Mo State who knows we might see Sara in the lineup with all the praise she has been getting

Yes, all three freshman were ranked inside the top 100. I watched them several times last season. Lexi Donarski was rated the highest (I believe she was top 20). The other 2 were outside of the top 50, if I remember correctly.

Coach Staley is correct fans of other schools need to support their women's basketball teams. Look at the North Carolina average men's game attendance versus their women's game attendance. Duke also. It's sad.

Right watched the exhibition and they looked “meh” someone other then Baylor is gonna win the big 12 this year for the 1st time in a very long time lol don’t the have like 11 straight big 12 trophies

Hard to understand about NC and Duke both schools had some really excellent teams in the past and look to have excellent teams this season.

Yeah, been saying this for a while. Just don’t think they have a deep enough roster to run the system she wants to. They can’t play 40 minutes a game all season and against good competition it looks like that’s what they’re gonna need.

I wasn’t impressed when she was coaching in the W. Knew she would be turning them into a more guard oriented team and I just think that’ll be a disaster. Makes them much easier to guard.

Any team that plays them will be silly if they don’t go straight at Ego. She has some trouble with fouls throughout her career and she’s the only one they have got for a true defensive post. Tag her with two fouls in the first quarter/half and it’s open season in the paint against Baylor this season.

Yes I believe they are the team to beat in the Big 12 this season. They may make a deep tournament run if Joens stays healthy, she’s a beast and so tough to guard. They have the guard play and shooters around her to be a problem. They needed a better defensive post player as Joens was having to guard hard in the paint last season. Not sure if they have helped her out there or not this season.

I understand the second set but the “other fanbases catch us if you can” I feel is taking a shot at teams who have high attendance on par with South Carolina

Attendance at Tennessee will probably be the best in a while. I think we'll average over 9000 a game this season which hasn't happened even couple years before covid wiped everybody out. A much upgraded schedule will be the reason look for big crowds in games against Stanford, Texas, and all the SEC home games. What was knocking us down the most was home games against 300 rpi teams like Central Arkansas and Air Force, etc.

Probably because men's basketball is the big game in town at those schools, and (comparatively speaking) there isn't a lot of interest in women's basketball no matter how good the team is. Same issue to a lesser degree at Kentucky. They have one of the best players in the country, but still get minimal fan attendance.
