Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

But still, gee whiz, can we have a couple! 😩😂
UConn and SC need to spread the wealth it is literally unfair but she is a South Carolina kid Coach Staley closed her borders and Kellie has the opportunity there are many top players from TN in the coming years and we are getting in on them very early

The SEC is looking so bad this season if were not in the top four teams in the league we will have regressed in year three.
The top 6 teams in this conference are good. I have Ark 6th and nobody wants to play them, they are dangerous on many nights.

lol on the "unfair." If Kellie ir whomEVER is coaching the Lady Vols could somehow sign the top 3 recruits of every class from now until the end of time, I'd be happy. No way would I be thinking it was unfair. I'd be thinking everybody else can just eat our dust! lol

No, not true. Other programs need to upgrade their recruiting. I don't think Coach Pat would have thought it a good idea to spread the wealth. Get as many really good players as possible.;)

Watching the SC vs Clemson game on now. SC up 1 at the end of the first quarter.
If they play like this most of the time, no way are they the #1 team.
Clemson, in a home game, lost to ivy league Columbia a few days ago. Uninspired play to say the least on SC's part.

Yep. Lazy play and turnovers. They look like they overlooked Clemson so far, thought they’d just hand it to them.

No Butler team is going to hand an instate rival anything. She loves a game like this and will have her team fired up.

If Bree Hall gets tired of basketball she could have a serious career as a fashion model. That is a beautiful young woman, regal, sculpted features. Usually don’t comment on player appearances but she’s stunning. Reminds me of Garcelle Beauvais and has Naomi Campbell cheekbones.

Amazing how quiet some of you are with SC only scoring 27 in the first half against Clemson. With all that talent they shouldn't be allowed to score only 27 points in a half? At least that's how some of you act around here concerning our team.
I mean, they held Clemson to 3 points in that quarter and are up by ten. This is gonna be a routine win for them 🤷‍♂️

Gawd, tough crowd

Dawn may actually have an issue of playing too many players this season. She’s going to try to get minutes for 8 or 9 and I’m not sure it’s possible without damaging their chemistry. Some of the stars are not going to see near the numbers they did a season or two ago.

Super talented group of young women but I’m curious to see how the dynamic develops. Cooke has not been aggressive at all, very strange for her.

I’m not convinced Henderson will ever be the answer at the point. 2 assists and 4 turns in the first half. At her diminutive size she has to take care of the ball better or she’s not bringing much.

Likely, but it’s not very inspired play against a team that’s not very good. Clemson can play a little defense but that’s it. Their grad transfer center has defended well in the post. SC shot selection has not been great.

Routine win or not, teams have those moments where they aren't at their best. If Tennessee was only up by 10 holding a team to 3 points in the quarter some around here would be killing Kellie and the team, but its fine because it's South Carolina and they get a pass for under performing

Not to mention the 13tos in the first half

Henderson is a scoring lead guard and helps open up their inside game. She can sometimes get out of control with the turnovers, but her scoring efficiency usually compensates for those errors. Imo, it's preferable to a steady guard who isn't a threat to score...unless the team is loaded with scorers at all of the other positions.

Tennessee has been in dogfights for 37-39.5 min in each of their three games. No wonder the fans here are emotional wrecks. If Tennessee had a routine low scoring win that was pretty over at the half, I'd be ecstatic.

A guard who will run the offense and get the ball to the two best centers in the country would be worth a lot more.

Guarantee Dawn agrees. She doesn’t want Destanni being her leading scorer. That’s obvious, or they wouldn’t have 10 turnovers trying to pass it into the post.

This is where losing Raven hurts. She appears to be better at feeding the posts than Destanni.

Having said that, Destanni is a valuable weapon to have in games like vs. NCState where they shut down SCs inside game.
