Wow - Geno issues a statement like he lives in the White House or something. Sounds like he's trying to convince people of something he's unconvinced of. It's more of a political statement. It doesn't read as genuine or sincere - just what he thinks people want to hear him say.
It isn't up to Tennessee, it's up to the PLAYER.
Yep, and idk why everyone is up in arms about it. This seems to be the new normal in WBB. Most schools no longer release injury information unless the player does. Stanford started that a couple seasons ago and has continued. Other programs have followed suit. Not sure what the reasoning is, but it’s a “thing” and not just a Tennessee thing.
I have a hard time convincing myself that it matters if we know or not. She’ll play when she plays, everyone knowing when that might be won’t change that. If her diagnosis and timeline are fluid it may be best for fans to be in the dark anyway. Focus on the team and players who are WINNING and Rae will join later and we will dominate even more.
How long does it take to recover from a tibial plateau fracture?
Depending on health and injury pattern this bone can take 3-4 months to heal without surgery. Physical therapy for knee range of motion is started around 6 weeks once bone has healed enough to prevent displacement with motion.
Ohhhh. When I posted above I didn’t realize this. I was going by the “6 to 8 weeks” prediction in the statement and hadn’t yet researched tibial plateau fractures. I do believe some are less severe than others.

We play UConn on 2/6. That would be a few days more than 8 weeks out. So she might be back by then. But if not, and we have Rae back, honestly we should expect to win if we are really a top 10 team. They aren’t anything special without Paige.
Hate this so much for all, I thought Geno's statement was very nice. Some of ya'll have Geno Derangement Syndrome. It was a super bizarre injury. Feel bad for her.The more I think about this fracture injury, the more obvious it is to me that that bone didn’t break when she simply started dribbling the ball up. The fracturing must have been because of some earlier trauma or action, and then maybe continuing to play on it just sped it up??? I can’t see how in the world someone could break a bone in the knee doing what I saw in the video. Bizarre!
Hope she recovers quickly!!!!
Deep breath. Its been stipulated lo these many times on this very thread that details of Rae's injury are private, for her to release if and when she chooses, and none of our damn business. And congratulations on being above the fray on this.I'm guessing it has a lot to do with legal liability. They are dealing with personal medical information. But even if that wasn't the case, the fans are not on a need-to-know basis. It doesn't hurt my fan passion at all not to know what Rae's injury is or what the treatment is or how long she'll be out. Since I'm not putting bets down on UT games, I have no need of the information at all.
