When I say triple vaccinated I mean he had two pfizer vaccine and one moderna booster. Make more sense? He had not had the third shot when he contracted the virus. That was recently
I’ll say this, look around. We’re shattering records for infections. 3/4 of the population has had at least one dose. Almost 70% have had two doses, many more a third. 70-90% is necessary for herd immunity. If it were at all effective we would be seeing a significantly lower number of new infections.
And to those saying the purpose of a vaccine isn’t to prevent illness….since when!?
That’s definitely the point of the Hep B/A vaccine, varicella, influenza, HPV, meningitis, diphtheria and all sorts of other vaccine PREVENTABLE illnesses. Vaccines work, this one doesn’t, stop letting CNN convince you it’s OK to move the goal posts closer just because we wish it had worked. An added benefit of some vaccines, like the seasonal influenza vaccine, is reduced symptoms if you do still become infected. This isn’t always even true for the flu vaccine. But the ultimate goal is preventing infection entirely.
COVID is endemic, it is not vaccine preventable and the vaccine only reduces symptoms slightly for most people. It does not reduce how contagious an individual is to any statistical significance. It is effective in reducing hospitalizations which is a positive and why I believe people should be vaccinated, but of their own volition. Vaccinated and boosted individuals with pre-existing comorbidities are still meeting very sad outcomes. The wake up call here is caring for your body properly and understanding science.
I’m an extremely educated person. That still matters. In the decade I’ve been on this site I’ve never felt the need to share my credentials or studies until recently. The narrative people are rolling with is based on cable news science and fear. Call a university and ask the micro professor what they think. Call your public health department and ask how effective they think preventative measures have been.
My entire point is, it’s here, it’s here to stay and there isn’t a dang thing anyone can do about it. Your best hope is to maintain good health and seek adjunctive therapies if you do become severely ill. Therapeutics are effective for most. This has a 1.5% mortality rate, yes, some people will perish from COVID, but so will millions of others from other causes. The solution cannot be greater than the problem.
Would you like to discuss the number of opioid related deaths this year? How about the very direct correlation of those deaths to the significant increase in mental health crises? This is something we can control. COVID isn’t. You heard it from the horses mouth “there is no federal solution.”
