Good game by Va Tech it was a one possession game and they turned it over. They player NC St tough on their home court. Close win for NC St. Georgia has that win over NC St. and we have that win over Va. Tech.

The Kentucky fans seem to think she has lost her rapport with her team. I would agree. They have stopped playing defense and rebounding almost entirely which is a good indication the coaches have lost them. Lots of accusations that the players have been having personal relationships with one another and it is affecting team chemistry. I believe there is some truth to that just watching them interact several times.

It’s a really strange issue that is tough to navigate in women’s collegiate sports. It doesn’t come up in the men’s game really ever that I can think of. I do believe personal relationships are totally inappropriate within a team though. Too much risk of affecting everyone in a negative manner if it does not work out. I think it’s pretty immature to be more concerned with dating your teammate than winning with them anyhow.

The women’s soccer program at my college had a similar issue. Had been really good and were coming off an NCAA tournament push. They had several girls who started dating one another in the off season and it totally imploded the team. They won like two games the next season. Had a bunch of transfers that were not comfortable with what was going on in the locker room. And disciplinary issues for those who stayed. Two of the girls ended up getting kicked off after trying to fight one of their ex boyfriends. It was just an unholy mess.

But the Kentucky team is definitely not dating teammates they are being ridiculous

Winning and dominating at home is a lot easier than doing the same thing on the road. Of course SC wins the game there as well but don't know how the numbers would play out there. 21 and 17 vs 14 and 6 could be a lot closer on their court.

You may be right but they need to play the game for me to know for sure. Not like Boston has never had a bad game she's had her share.

I don’t think it’s any of our business who players are dating, but I will say that sometimes life as a major D1 athlete inherently brings these women into a situation in which they often don’t have much time available to spend with anyone BUT each other.

Plus, even though society has come a long way in regard to same-sex relationships, many of these young people are only now at the age and place to begin exploring new feelings. And sometimes it’s a matter of spending so much time with someone working toward a goal together that feelings can arise naturally.

If I had my druthers I’d definitely want the players be close and love each other and fight for each other to succeed rather than fall in love and risk eventually fighting WITH one another — but it’s not up to me.

Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that our players will be able to stay close as teammates only. Love these kids and want the best for all of them!

Mizzou’s Blackwell is one of the best players in the SEC. I absolutely LOVE her competitiveness. I also kinda wish she were moving on to the W after this season, too. lol
