Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

I have seen all her press conferences and your perception is skewed. Did you expect them to win in the SEC this year? Hardly. I wonder what your tone will be in 3 or 4 years. Enjoy beating on Vandy now because it may not always be that way.

My perception is my perception. Yours is clouded by your own bias, just as mine is.

Of course I didn’t expect them to win the SEC. I never do expect them to. I don’t foresee them being more than a middling team while she is there until they make yet another coaching change two years too late.

So uconn got lucky LOL and Dawn recognized that it might cost her team a championship to not play a full schedule. I'm sure Coach Yo is going to have her team ready.

Thanks @mlindsay for bringing this to my attention

Thanks for sharing this. It is very surprising. If we win out the conference except for the game at S.C. and they win out without making up the Ole Miss game, we would have won the SEC title because of one more win which would have made the tie breaker irrelevant. So, we may be the team most impacted by this change. Of course, if we take care of business there it will not matter. I wonder how the likely sellout crowd for the UCONN game feels about it being changed. No way they would have sold-out for Ole Miss on a Thursday night even though I personally feel like it might be a good game.

Dang!! This is big news and really good news for UCONN. But also not great news for them as they could use the opportunity for a huge win.

Ours is a must win game against them now. We can’t be the only quality team they beat this year lol. I have full faith this team will beat them, with or without Bueckers.

Dawn definitely isn’t wanting to give up that SEC crown. As more and more games happen you know she’s not liking second place. That loss to MIZZOU is going to haunt them.

Actually think Ole Miss matches up with them well and could give them trouble on Thursday. SC has had some poor first halves. Ole Miss is a tough team and will make them pay if they don’t come out from the tip.

Uconn is now taking on Depaul on wednesday. High scoring team should possibly be a good one. Not the team SC is but should provide a challenge.

Uconn's big wins are Notre Dame and USF. With SC off the table their chance at a big resume win would be us. Not that i think we will let that happen. Uconn has two make up games left i believe do they try and use that date with us to make one up?

That works out well for both teams. Was also important for them to make up some of their games.

I think DePaul will beat them with the team they are fielding at the moment. Ducharme can carry them against inferior Big East teams but against better competition she is just a freshman.

I look forward to seeing her play against our defense. A lot of the buckets she gets at the rim are Tamari fodder.

So here is a crazy thought. If we get a conference game or two canceled we would ditch the UConn game if make up was possible that date.

Get out of my head... I was just thinking along the lines will uconn use our of conference date to make up their games? Because it might have an impact on their regular season title (if they care about that) which might impact their seeding.

If we have to postpone any games I can 100% see that happening. I believe an SEC title is far more important than a UCONN win.

Both SEC teams backing out on UCONN could really screw them come tournament time. If they lose any Big East games they could end up in a 5 seed which is notoriously tough route.

oh the irony 😂

Here's my concern -- not knowing any specifics about Tess's status. If it turns out Tess has only been in close contact with someone with Covid, is negative for now but isolating to make sure she is not unwittingly passing the virus along before having had time to test positive herself, there may have been a short period of close contact with others in the "in-between" time.

This is what is so maddening about a highly contagious virus, whether it be the flu or Covid. There is usually a period in which the person has been exposed without knowing it, and thus may soon become contagious without knowing it as well.

My most fervent hope right now is that Tess Darby is going to be okay really soon and that, ideally, she was just out today out of an abundance of caution and NOT because she has Covid.

Keep Tess Darby in your positive thoughts. 🧡

Winning and dominating at home is a lot easier than doing the same thing on the road. Of course SC wins the game there as well but don't know how the numbers would play out there. 21 and 17 vs 14 and 6 could be a lot closer on their court.

She also scored 8 of her 14 points against the subs in the 4th quarter.

What happened in that NC State game last season? Boston 9 and 9 and Culnane 14 and 6 so Culnane won that battle so do I think Culnane is better not even close but you can win a matchup in a game cause she won that one. So Boston won this one big on her home court play a game at Kansas State and see if she wins it that big or at all there. We all know what a huge advantage SC has on their homecourt probably the best in the country. No one saying she didn't dominate that matchup, but every game is different and don't try to downplay what she just did 61 points in a game Boston has never done that and never will.

We'll find out the specifics real soon like Thursday she will either be back or she want. That game will tell us everything about her situation. Until then hope for the best that she doesn't have it and if so only the mild case.

Boston is literally averaging a double double against the best competition a player can play against what are you arguing exactly? The name of the game is to WIN, not be the first player to score 60 or see who can dominate a certain matchup. No one has said Lee isn’t great. She should definitely be celebrated for her 61 points. Boston is trying to do something no other SEC player has done and that’s get 20 straight double doubles in a season. She nor SC is focused on Lee at this point. So everything you’re trying to argue is moot at this point.

No one is arguing anything how did the subject get on Boston when we were talking about what Lee did. I'm not focused on Boston but somehow she keeps getting brought up in the conversation of the discussion of Lee. So why you doing that? I am saying just because she won the battle in one game it may not happen next time. No player wins every battle they are in.
