My one and only sure opinion about the WNBA draft is that the Indiana Fever will choose poorly. They’ve never had a No.1 pick, but if they did I suspect they’d somehow screw it up.

That pick last year??? Gondrezick? That very moment I nicknamed her “Gone-real-quick,” and it only took a year.

I can’t even root for them anymore because they seem to deliberately sabotage themselves. I adore Tamika Catchings, but that Gone-Real-Quick pick was her responsibility. Ugh.

(By “her responsibility” I mean that as a Fever honcho that wasted pick was ultimately her responsibility. I have no idea whose initial idea it was to take her over Rennia.)
