When Dorka is playing, Ducharme at 6’2” plays the wing. She is pretty athletic though not as athletic as Horston. There's no comparison between ONO and Tamari. Key is bigger and stronger. As a reminder, UConn had a nice size advantage vs. SC and got obliterated on the boards. I expect the same to happen vs. Tennessee. The LVs rebound better as individuals and as a team. They have three players (Key, Houston, Dye) that rebound as well or better than ONO.
Size differences you noted between UConn and Arkansas aren't really that significant...2-3 inches. And both are still smaller (and less athletic) than Burrell/Horston at the wing.
Right...which is why I said "less athletic than Burrell/Horston". Ducharme has some nice moves to the basket, but the Tenn wings are quicker. And if she does get by them, she'll have to get by Key, and so far it seems that the concept of kicking the ball out is lost on Caroline. A little bit of a black hole, that one is.When Dorka is playing, Ducharme at 6’2” plays the wing. She is pretty athletic though not as athletic as Horston.
Do we know she isn’t practicing? No way. That's only a week away. She's not even cleared for practice, let alone game minutes. UConn now also has to deal with the fact that Dorka is day-to-day with a foot injury.
Honestly, there's no way Tennessee should lose this unless Tamari picks up two fouls in the first minute.
I agree, there is not comparison to ONO and Key. Key is bigger and stronger. ONO is faster and more agile. But both are effective in their own way. There's no comparison between ONO and Tamari. ONO is not faster nor more agile than Key. That's why she gets so many blocks. She can track the guards if they drive and close in on the shooters. ONO will have a much harder time trying to score on Key than vice versa. Key has made a living of shutting down opposing post players not named Aliyah Boston.I agree, there is not comparison to ONO and Key. Key is bigger and stronger. ONO is faster and more agile. Key - FG% 61.2, FT% 61.3, RPG - 8.4, PPG 9.9, Blocks - 76, assists - 17
ONO - FG% 58, FT% 64.3, RPG - 8.2, PPG 9.8, Blocks - 33, assists - 74
That makes no sense. How can someone should have done something that never happened? They would have if the game was not cancelled. Did I not cover the way UConn has been playing?
We will just have to disagree on the speed and agility.ONO is not faster nor more agile than Key. That's why she gets so many blocks. Great synopsis of that particular match up.We will just have to disagree on the speed and agility.
Head to head?
First game
Freshman Key - 19 minutes, 1-5 from the field, 2 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, fouled out
Sophomore ONO - 22 minutes, 3-8 from the field, 4-6 on FTs, 7 rebounds, 1 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 4 fouls
Second game
Sophomore Key - 31 mibutes, 5-7 from the field, 10 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, 4 fouls
Junior ONO - 31 minutes, 2-7 from the field, 7 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 fouls.
Looks pretty even.
Looking forward to the game. I like both players and what they bring to the table.
It's why they play the games. Looking forward to dissecting this matchup after next weekend's matchup. We will just have to disagree on the speed and agility.

Have been traveling so behind on the news but did see The Argonauts lost the rematch with Carroll. Bummer. Saw one of the players hit 2k pints though. Do the Argonauts have a conference tournament?
And the difference is TK is allowed to get beat up and fouls aren't called and when even stares hard at a person she is called. ONO gets a way with a lot of holding, grabbing and pushing and refs seem to ignore it. It happened against Morrow and the same happened the other day against Providence. I expect TK to have to sit and ONO is able to stuff the stat sheet because the refs will cater to Geno in Uconn. We will just have to disagree on the speed and agility.

It's all in the mind of the beholder. Morrow beat the crap out of ONO in that game and didn't get called for fouls. And the difference is TK is allowed to get beat up and fouls aren't called and when even stares hard at a person she is called. Some fans realize the referees just flat out suck without attributing malice to plain incompetence. It's all in the mind of the beholder. Morrow beat the crap out of ONO in that game and didn't get called for fouls.
The refs don't cater to Geno. UConn gets plenty of fouls called on them and many that UConn fans would say were unwarrented.
In the Providence game, ONO was in foul trouble early and ended up with four fouls. And the Providence player that had a career high? She went to the foul line 10 times.
Fans of all teams think their teams get the short end of the stick.
And Ono was beating the crap out of her too! Along with holding and other things some which could be viewed as dirty play. But of course you'll defend it!It's all in the mind of the beholder. Morrow beat the crap out of ONO in that game and didn't get called for fouls.

It has nothing to do with conspiracies at all but I expect you to think otherwise! You want to see classic "Fan emotions" playing out? Right here.....Now I firmly realize he believes all that he wrote, kinda. But if you push a fan like this they will go deeper, they believe in conspiracies against their team, and will go to their grave believing the refs hate their team and were trying to influence the outcome of the game against their team. It sounds wild, but it's out there in droves.
Lady Vols have attempted 428 free throws thus far, their opponents have attempted 299. That is to be expected when you have the more skilled team in almost all games.
