I could have maybe understood this loss if Villanova was loaded with a bunch of upperclassmen and super seniors, but they literally have on graduate senior on the team. Most of the team is made up of freshmen and sophomores

UCONN is going to be looking for a center in the portal. Don’t see how they don’t have a couple transfers as well.

I have never really been on the boneyard. I feel like watching some Uconn fans heads exploding and playing the blame game. Maybe I'll peak in too... LOL

I think they'll say (which is actually valid) ONO was out and Caroline D. Then they'll say if course when Paige gets back.... The NCAA committee shouldn't hold this against us because we will have all our players back.

I don't know much about Nova, but I think guard Maddie Z. is 2nd nationally in scoring at just over 25 ppg. Sounds like Dorka was not 100% either, so they really only played with the 5 starters, one of whom was in foul trouble the whole night. 4 guards and an undersized post out for extended time will get you killed on the boards. Goes to show how important the much maligned ONO is to their team. They could be in trouble next season if they can't fill her shoes.

I'm sure TonyC will have a somber post in the AM. Poor guy...he was sky high after the Tenn win too lol.

I'm sure UConn was sky high after the Tennessee win, too - I'm sure it meant more to them and their coach than anyone wanted to let on. The inconsequential-looking game after a huge emotional showdown is almost never that easy, unless you're the best of the best. UConn for myriad reasons is not looking like the best of the best right now. Add in losing another player for the game, and it was a recipe for ... well, what just happened.

DePaul will be out for blood. I don't know what happened to ONO, but if she and Dorka are out, UConn is screwed. They might actually have to play Piath and Amari!

I can't imagine why she would, unless she just wants a title...and even that's no guarantee with SC in the way. She'll probably be a higher draft pick this year compared.to next year's loaded class anyways.

They should also say that they had two former number 1 ranked players, a number 2 ranked player, a Canadian Olympian, the number 1 ranked European player last year and last year big ten players of the year and they lost to a team loaded with freshmen and sophomores who no one has ever heard of. Also note, Geno generally only goes 6-7 deep. At least the 2 former number 1 recruits put up some decent numbers.

Most of them get it, but many don't understand that they aren't going to be rewarded with a high seed just because Paige comes back.

I did not receive an upset alert from ESPN at the end of the Nova win, but I got about five of them during our game with CT.

They just sent an alert about Texas-Texas Tech, though. Crickets on CT's loss.

ONO was a last minute scratch right before tipoff because she wasn't feeling well. She was on the bench, though. So probably not a cold/flu if she's exposing herself to her teammates. Maybe a stomach bug or something? I'm sure they're hoping she's back in time for Friday's game.

Who are you talking about, Amari? I have no clue why she's not playing. I know that Gatorade POYs can be hit or miss depending on who they were competing against, but Amari was on a bunch of the US National Junior teams. You'd think that she would have earned some PT given all of the injuries they've had.
