I like that Kellie does not make scenes and embarrass the players on court as well, but the word outburst sounds to me uncontrolled, and this was a controlled, needed, and very well thought out ‘get tough minded, get your act together’ speech, which helped the team play tougher in the game, and win.Wow. I like that she can do this in private meetings with them, but does not embarrass them in public with these kinds of ourbursts.
I’ve seen her play several times in town. She’s quick, handles the ball well and is a shooter. She’s little, only about 5’5. IWA is a powerhouse in the area and has been since I was in high school (I graduated in 1999). Idk how it is in other states but in MO the private schools play the public schools which isn’t a level playing field. Private schools can recruit the best kids in the area (that’s how Napheesa came here. She started high school at the public high school in Jefferson City then after an amazing freshman year her family suddenly moved the almost 2 hours to St. Louis and she ended up at IWA) and the public schools get who live in their borders. Just giving some perspective. She’s good, but I don’t see her coming in turning the SEC on its ear. There is a player from St. Louis named Sania Tyler who has signed with Kentucky. She plays for Incarnate Word Academy. They have won 60 straight games and they play a national schedule. It's the same school Napheesa Collier attended. I hope she does not regret signing with Kentucky.
I think her shooting woes and turnovers can be largely attributed to Diamond Miller. She was draping her long, gangly 6'3 frame all over her and was getting her hands on a lot of passes. And when she'd lose Diamond on a switch, she had either 6'2 Sellers or 6'3 Reese coming over instead. She could not get any open looks. They really clamped down on her.Clark played a terrible game 7 for 25 from the field and 10 turnovers. She can be awesome or erratic in her play and last night was the worst of it.
For SEC standing we really need Florida and LSU to drop another game ASAP correct?
They play Thursday night. No, they play tonight.
