Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

CONF
South Carolina 14-1 CLINCH
LSU 12-3
Tennessee 11-4

LSU has clinched at least a tie for second
If they win, they will have 2nd outright.
If they lose, Tenn ties for second and owns the tiebreaker for #2 tourney ranking (bye)

Pretty doggone important game. Surprised you don't have a pre-game thread yet.

I am sick of South Carolina getting a home advantage every year and the SEC keeps letting it happen

Where were your complaints and calls for justice the 17 times it was held in Tenn? There have been 42 SEC WBB tournaments, 17 in Tenn and 13 in Ga. That is 30 out of 42.
Nobody bitched about it then, it was taken for granted UT was the kingpin of WBB and everyone knew Tenn would get the tourney most years. So now it's an issue....wonder why, I'm sorry, but there is some sideway hypocrisy going on here.

You tell me why you think this is the time for a UT fan to start claiming unfair, I will hang up and listen.

P.S.: I see you have only been on this site for 2 years so if you were bitching about how "unfair" it was when Tenn was getting all those past SEC tournaments (please) nobody would have seen it anyway...

Btw..Drive times:

Knoxville to Greenville: 2 hours 54 minutes
Columbia to Greenville: 1hour 40 minutes
Knoxville to Nashville: 2 hours 42 minutes
Columbia to Nashville: 6 hours 54 minutes

*maybe the SEC office knows what they are doing without your beefstick

The SEC Women's Tournament throughout its history has been held in Tennessee 17 times (counting this year) with 5 years in a row; in Georgia 13 times with 8 years in a row; in SC 5 times (8 if you count the next 3 years just announced) with 3 years in a row; in Arkansas 4 times and 1 time each in Kentucky, Florida and Louisiana.

Totally unfair it should move around to Greenville, Nashville, Atlanta, and other places to give fans of other local teams chances to go to a tourney without needing to travel. SEC getting like Big East who always has it in Connecticut.

Greenville has turned into a resort city. Downtown is gorgeous and much nicer than those other two cities. It's 100 miles from Columbia.

Greenville is a great place to have it. They just need to start moving the venue so those fans out west are not locked into that long drive. Never been a fan of a single regional site unless it is easy and cheap to get to but it can't be the home floor of any team.

I always thought that Greenville was a great venue for the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament just as Nashville is a solid host for the men's tournament.

Need to remember that where the Men;s Tourney is held is a factor. Nashville gets the men's tourney so they can't get the women's tourney as well.

Why not? The tourneys are a week apart.

Best SEC tourneys EVER was the run in the late 90s early 2000s at the Roundhouse in Chattanooga. Of course it was crazy partisan for the LVs but it was SO much fun! I like an arena of around 15K for these where its crowded, close, and fun in the later rounds. I went to one of the first ones at Bridgestone and it was kinda empty and big.
