Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Yeah I tend to agree with Lisa. She is my POY. Boston is great, but you can’t overlook what Clark is doing. Fastest to 1500, triple doubles, deep threes. She’s good for the game.

And way better than Bueckers ImO.

I hope the committee sends Iowa to the Greensboro region as a 4 seed.

I would love to see Clark win POY also because without her Iowa is very weak .500 team. I know that she won't get it because the most deserving player never does.
This is exactly what I talk about when it comes to bias. Clark is a good player who scores a lot of points....because they "need" her to score a lot of points. She is not a great defensive player. Boston doesn't "need" to score 30 points a game and she plays excellent defense. She is superior as an all around player and is always the most impactful player on the floor in every game she plays. Boston "is" the most deserving player !

No she is not the most deserving unless you are a biased SC fan. Clark's scoring average is far higher, she is much higher in assists, and not much lower in rebounds. She leads in more categories than Boston does. So you come over here talking about bias since it seems you are exactly the one who is.no.gif

I wonder how many points per game Boston would score if she was a volume shooter? But that's not her role on a more balanced scoring team where she doesn't play comparative minutes. Also her intimidation factor on offense and defense is unmeasurable.

Iowa is the only team in the country with two 20+ point scorers. Clark is a volume scorer and a volume playmaker. I fail to see your point here.

Don’t know about others, but for me:

She’s a drama queen on the court, she constantly seeks the limelight and camera shots and holds onto it as long as possible, even to hold up a game so we can see how upset she is over a call.

Even when she’s not playing, cameras show her on the sideline, so we can see her reactions.

ESPN makes sure her picture is on their site daily, so I’m literally sick of seeing her face.
Have you watched Clark play in a game? I’m not sure there is a more whiny player in WBB, she is a great player, beyond great actually, but I will say this: if we are in a pickup game and choosing teams, I’m taking PB first as almost any knowledgeable fan would, that pretty much sums up who is the best. And I am no UConn fan as you all know.

Perhaps you meant "immeasurable" rather than "unmeasureable". Your use of unmeasureable adds nothing to bolster your argument of Boston's value to the team.

Btw, here's the difference:
"Unmeasurable: refers to something that can't be measured, and this could be due to any number of reasons.
Immeasurable: also refers to something that can't be measured, but for one reason, size. The
immenseness or boundlessness of something makes it impossible to measure."

Diana Taurasi is more whiny! Hands down!!

The question wasn’t who is the best, the question was what do you not like about PB, which I mostly answered. It had nothing at all to do with Clark, the proven best basketball player.

She is the best offensive force in WBB based upon many measures, scoring average etc, but also on a team that lets and needs her to volume shoot a ton. But offense is half the game and I dare say she is well below average on defense tbh.

NPOY is not automatically the highest scorer in the nation, look at past winners, rarely highest scorer if that player is volume shooter and or less than average on defense. Same goes for all the former LV players that won the award, they were the most well rounded.

There are awards in the NBA, WNBA and college for highest scoring players, who sometimes are also the most well rounded, but generally POY includes so much more otherwise we just give all the POY awards to the scoring champ.
I’m not saying Clark isn’t deserving, just that it’s more than who scores the most as you all already knew.
