Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

You are stirring up something that is incredibly serious.
It’s not serious. People tweet or message dumb and stupid things all the time. And the fact remains is that no police report has been filed according to the police in that jurisdiction. So it’s completely BS designed to deflect from a player’s meltdown on the court

UConn, the team I despise the most found a way to win....again! Make it stop!!!!!

Louisville plays excellent ball and their little blond, forgot her name, is one of the finest female ball players I have ever seen....She is spectacular.

One thing that really stands out to me is these final 4 teams do not make a lot of turnovers trying to force feed their center like we do...Perhaps, that bad habit we have, should be reevaluated...

The game has definitely changed to penetrating guards and deep outside shooters, not get the ball to the big girl at all costs....

To me Stanford still looks like the class of the tournament...They have a lot of panache, and Haley Jones is a hell of a ball player too...
UConn was turnover prone early in the season especially when key players were injured. They finally started taking better care of the ball during their conference tournament. Their NCAA Stats turnover rank was 181.

I must have missed all the passionate wailing about poor little Creighton having to play (and defeat) Iowa in, of all unlikely places, Iowa City. Are away games a problem for all teams, or just for those going up against whoever we despise?

Bonus question: How many times was Stanford the #2, playing at home against a number 1?

Ok didn't look at the comments. LOL they think everything is about them/him.

I still think she's taking a parting shot at Yo. Didn't a couple of other Ole Miss players just enter the portal.

BTW, break em down to build em up was Pat's go to.

Two coaches have won more NCs than all the other coaches put together. The same two coaches have put more players in the WNBA than any others. They must have done something right. IMO she ain't talking about Geno.

Issue was that NC State was the 1 seed and had to play the Elite Eight basically as a home game for UCONN.

Entirely different situation to Creighton and Iowa. Iowa deserved to host and lost on their home floor. That’s their own doing.

UCONN was given a very significant advantage playing the 1 seed in front of their fans. Even the DJ was a UCONN lean. Just pathetic they would do that to a 1 seed.

I can actually see Caroline Ducharme entering the portal. She was really playing quite a bit and doing well, but seems to have taken a back seat.

Never going to happen. She will start next season. Right now I think she's riding a lot of pine as a teaching moment. She has not had a good tournament so far.

Pretty hard to have a “good tournament” averaging around 4 minutes a game…I get it though, she should start next season and she gained a ton of confidence and experience this season so she will be ready.

You know, when the season started and she was buried on the bench, her few minutes a game did not portend what her game was. After the injuries and when she got the opportunity to play she showed what she could do and it didn’t take any time at all, meaning she always had that game ready ability just as she still has now.

Gotta love people it when parents stick their nose into something that doesn't concern them. "Don't contact my daughter" while literally not a damn soul was doing so and it was about a player from a different school and conference.
Lmao exactly. But don’t you know a “Lady Vol” mother definitely knows about an investigation in Indiana more than the police do 😂😂😂

They wouldn’t have even won against Nc State except that the officials allowed ONO and Edwards about 10 fouls a piece. Both players should have fouled out in regulation.

UConn post players have always been allowed to foul without being called. See Tina Charles and Stephanie Dolson who set 57 illegal screens and committed 15 uncalled over-the-back calls a game.

Never say never. We’ve seen some pretty crazy stuff before. She hasn’t had a good tournament because she hasn’t played the minutes she did before Paige was able to play.

I would imagine all parents of collegiate athletes are concerned about strangers reaching out to their kids. So, yes, it does rightfully concern the Lady Vol mother’s. I’ve been really impressed with the current group of LV parents. No nonsense and very savvy. I’m glad they are proactive about this. Given your response and the other guy who was equally dismissive I have to wonder if you both have harassed athletes. Me thinketh the lady doth protesteth too much.

Did UConn have a very friendly crowd? Abso-plucking-lutely. Did it help them win?
Sure didn't hurt, but just how much is a matter of speculation.

You overlooked the bonus question.

Year-2014
Regional held at Stanford, Maples Pavillion
Teams- #2 seed Stanford vs. #1 seed South Carolina

Year- 2009
Regional held at Berkeley, less than 40 miles from Stanford
Teams- #2 seed Stanford vs. #1 seed Duke

I don't recall lots of LVFLs screaming, “Unfair!”

We don't dislike Stanford even a fraction of a percent as much as we detest UConn,
so the unfair factor is magnified.

Of course we are all being perfectly objective, one size fits all, your check is in the mail…as seen on TV…

Did you seriously have to go back 8 and 13 years, respectively, to find a good comparison? Obviously that isn’t fair, either, but it doesn’t happen consistently in WCBB for anyone not named UConn, and that’s just an undeniable fact. Stanford hasn’t dominated WCBB at any point in its history, either.

From what I can see has her on a very short leash. He puts her in and if she doesn't do it his way she gets yanked. I can't say that I agree but it has worked for him for a long time. It might be like that "break them down" thing that some one posted.

ONO especially…she went over the back quite a bit. But I was more puzzled that Diamond was pretty much yanked in OT and Perez couldn’t hit the bottom of the ocean last night. Stanford received help from the refs as well in my opinion. Had Key brought her arms down on blocked shots, it would’ve been an automatic whistle.

Where UConn has been placed over the last decade of tournaments, not counting 2020 (no tournament) and 2021 (COVID protocol):
2022: Bridgeport
2019: Albany
2018: Albany
2017: Bridgeport
2016: Bridgeport
2015: Albany
2014: Lincoln (The furthest they've traveled. They got sent to potentially play Nebraska on their homecourt (Nebraska lost in the 2nd round) and we got sent to potentially play Louisville on theirs but we lost in the S16.)
2013: Bridgeport
2012: Kingston, RI
2011: Philadelphia

Four of the last ten years, *they haven't had to leave the state of Connecticut*. It's not like Connecticut is a large state. It's clear as day that site exists solely because of UConn and their success. One year they went to play next door in Rhode Island and three years they traveled just over two hours to Albany. To put that in perspective, it's nearly three hours from Knoxville to Nashville.

Cherry pick much? There is no comparison here. Stop trying to make it happen lol

I recall there being PLENTY of talk about how unfair it was when Stanford and SC played in 2014. Many on VolNation thought SC was getting screwed just like Nc State was.
