Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Think we all could feel this with dawn now grant it i think she is excellent and to be honest what she has done in building a no name university in womens basketball into a powerhouse is commendable, but i think someone said earlier in the chat shes basically playing devils advocate of keeping talent stock, over recruiting keeping talent away from other teams case in point its no reason for them to technically be pursuing asia blackwell like why it makes no sense but the point is i can see some false recruitment of players not being honest with them. and being the hot commodity they are right now alot of kids will buy it

Well, if she keep stacking talents it will start affecting her because other top recruits will start thinking that if they ever get injury they're replaced immediately with another star. Hope to come to TN

You can't "play to your strengths" if the players in front of you are better. These analogies are way off base. You would expect Kellie to play a less talented player so she could "play to her strengths" ? Not happening at Tennessee either. That's not how you win a national title.

We'll see at seasons end next year. This bravado has been playing out for years here. From the "Dawn hasn't won, we have the better players, she can't win a title." I have been here since 2008 and it's always the same. The tide turned and the people here trashed our program more and more. I was always nice and I still try to be....but.....fans like you make it difficult. Just give credit where credit is due. That's what I do. You should try it. It makes you less miserable. Tennessee's program is on the upswing but Dawn has the national spotlight for now. She is making the rounds on national television. You should check it out.

Get used to it Superfly because I don’t think Dawn is done winning just yet, seems to me she’s just getting started. I wonder how long it takes for her to win her third? Honestly think it will be as soon as next year. I think Boston will have a senior season similar to the one Wilson had where she was a clear WNBA player still playing the college game lol. If her teammates continue to rally around her Boston will definitely lead them to another championship. The difference being Boston will have tremendous help while A’ja didn’t have exactly much. Also hearing talk Dawn and staff has been out to LA under the radar recruiting JuJu Watkins and really putting a press on to land her or Mikayla Williams to possibly go along with Fulwiley and Joyce Edwards. If Dawn can land any of Williams or Watkins to go with the possibles of Fulwiley and Edwards I don’t see teams really beating her anytime soon because those 3 are probably the best HS prospects I’ve ever seen play!

I watched Candace Parker, Kelsey Plum, Kristi Toliver and Aja Wilson. So i've seen some of the actual best play LOL. Not knocking those girls but just saying they have a lot to live up to if they are on track for even those high school players type of careers.

Please note that I said the best IVE SEEN. Not you or no one else. I too watched Candace and Aja play in HS and my point still stands. Hell Watkins is already regarded higher than Kelsey Plum ever was. Yeah I know Plum went on to be the NCAA Leading scorer but JuJu is drawing comparisons to the greats Cynthia Cooper, Cheryl Miller and Lisa Leslie. All the players I mentioned are also highly ranked and their all on the right tracks.

Pingeton is and has been a respected coach for many years and because she brought in a volatile player who decided to make bad decisions, break rules as she saw fit and the coach disciplines Said player for creating the issue, now you got a problem. The problem is Ajiah Blackwell. That is why she was suspended for so many games. Not the coach. If I remember right there were more than just Blackwell suspended on that team. Where is your concern about the rest of them?
