Not a blog....but a thought

The officials had the yips and I think one or two of them must have slipped them to Mallet as well. He had several opportunities to bury the Gators.
yeah, all those points Arky left on the field didn't have a thing to do with the loss. Those calls shoulda, woulda, coulda been a non factor. I'm still miffed at beef's calling damn an idiot. You reckon beef caught PF's speech at the Arky QB club?

If this offensive line keeps performing like it has this year, I fully expect the Rotary circuit to dry up at any minute. Beef knows the truth. He is just having a hard time embracing it.

Unfortunately, bad calls are part of the game. The Alabama-Penn St bad call of 1983 still irks me.

Alabama scored the winning touchdown on the last play of the game only to have an official rule the receiver was out of bounds. Replays show he was not. A member of the officiating crew happened to have a son playing for Penn State.
Ohio St. won a title over Miami thanks to horrendous officiating.

Both calls in question were bad no doubt. But if Arky connects on both FG then we're talking about the loss and not the win. How Florida managed to turn it over 4 times and win, much less remain in the game says a lot. If anything, Arkansas should've blown us out of the water. We gave them every chance.

It would be naive to think tebow doesn't get calls because of who he is, much like Kobe or lebron. Riley Cooper pushes off as much as any receiver I have seen in a long time

no they shouldn't. They're not very good and their best RB was out of the game, along with their WR corps being very beaten up. Their Defense is one of the worst in the conference. That's how you turn it over 4 times and win. A little luck, we'd have done the same against UCLA.

There are clearly a different set of rules Riley gets to play by.

Help me out - what does this say? You barely beat a shorthanded team that Bama destroyed at home. What does this say about UF?

I'd say that the only problem games they have left in the reg season are South Carolina and maybe UGA.
You'll hear it after they get squashed in the SEC championship game. He'll vow to beat the crap out of Boise St in the blah bowl or whatever bowl they'd like to call it.

I want Florida to lose more than anyone, but there's no guarantee they don't win out. They are more talented than USC and UGA, and Bama could have a bad game in the SECCG. If they manage to get to the national title, there's a decent chance they could be playing a weaker team like Texas or even Cincinnati. I just hope they don't get there.

You and me both. That is a likely scenario unfortunately. Not many teams out there that can line up with Florida and beat them straight up. Bama and maybe Texas look about like the most likely two. USC has the talent but they're hampered by a young QB and a lot would have to happen for them to make it in anyway.

The officials in that game should never work another SEC game. The two calls against AR and the non call against UF at the end were some of the worst I have ever seen. There is no excuse for the bad calls comming from SEC officials, this is the richest league in the country they can afford the best officials.

That being said AR blew way too many chances to put the game away and deserved to lose.

here's an idea, since you feel so strongly about this griff and since we are all in agreement with you that it was some fishy officiating, why don't you use your public forum to let your opinion be known...write a blog.

I don't usually do this, but +1.

Griff, you should really do this in your blog, I know you want to generate traffic to your site, this would probably do it for you.

Not "poor officiating" more like profitable officiating!

In the rulebook, officials are considered part of the field - can they help it if some schools put more money into maintaining their field?

The $EC has the best ref's money can buy.

This is now 2 losses for UF that showed up in the "W" column; UT and now Ark. Fortunately, UF will have bonafide losses on the record next year.

You've got some chickens coming home to roost before you get out of the conference this year. Don't pack your bags for Pasadena just yet...

I'm talking about sentiments. UF felt like losers after we played them and I'm sure they don't feel like contenders today. It's not that tough to parse my comment.
It is tough. I guarantee you that UF felt like the winner after each game. The new BCS rankings should remind them that they are contenders.
