Not sure we are a top 10 team.

Don't give up this year's running game or special teams.

Really, we just need to get our pass attack back up to elite. Then we're cooking with gas. Probably have to wait for next season to get there, though.

Go Vols!
Next season may be rough. You won’t recognize one name on Oline.

If I had my way, we'd have last year's offense andCmon this year's defense.

And if I had my way, Eric Berry would've suited up yesterday and been in prime form, #16 would have come through the Power T along with Peerless Price, and Al Wilson would be on this defense.

C'mon, man.

So nice to read common sense posts like this one.

This team is a completely different beast than last year, and I think CJH is coming around to the idea that he can't coach to win 52-49 games, but for more close to the vest type games like A&M. Maybe slow the pace more often, and run stuff that Joe is more comfortable with, but it would help immeasurably if the WR's would hold on to the damn ball.

I wish everyone would stop with the Nico stuff. This isn't a video game where you just plug in anyone and they perform. Joe is the team leader, you're f***king with team chemistry if you pull him while this group is winning, and we've seen the results of a fractured team last year at SC. And that is beside the risk of losing a kid who is your future by throwing him into the fire unprepared for this level of intensity.
Excellent post. Got a lot of folks around here that got spoiled last year and won’t understand what you are talking about. Evidently they’ve forgotten what it was like around here 5, 10 or 15 years ago. I haven’t.

I would caution everyone calling this a transition year. Just because Nico takes over next year does not mean we're as successful or more successful next year. I think we should all enjoy this season, even if its an 8/9 win year.

We lose 8 starters from the offense next year, of which 4 are on the O-line.. If Jaylen Wright declares for the NFL, we lose 9 starters next year.

We lose 9 starters from the defense next year. The entire secondary, our best LBs and very important aspects of the DL.

We're talking about 17-18 starters gone that will need to be replaced from a 8/9 win team. Recruiting has been okay but pump the breaks on the next year talk and enjoy the ride this year. Next year is not a guarantee.
But we should be getting better, seniors this year are mostly Pruitts recruits, seniors next year will be Hypes

Tennessee has been blessed with guys taking their Covid yr. Hopefully a few will next year. Next years senior class is the class signed during the darkest period between Pruitt/Heupel. They better make the portal work big time.

A&M’s db’s are bad. Milroe lit them up for 330 yards. Milton only had 100 yards.

On the road - that ain’t gonna do it. He’s simply a game manager at this point.

A&M played a lot of 3 deep vs Vols while they didn’t vs Alabama. I guess Jimbo thought that 5* DL he has could handle the Vols run game. They couldn’t.

Word in the media is UT hasn't played a Top 25 Team yet.

Alabama has played better competition and has a more polished QB than Milton.

Defenses are similar as well so not much difference.

Oh, and Bama is playing at home so Vols lose by more than 9.5.

I think a lot of people are overlooking this. 2025 is the year that everything should finally come together for the Vols. There should be plenty of talent and veterans. It will be a playoff year for sure.

I sometimes wonder about Joe's ability to make the right decision quickly. For example, not taking a shot downfield when aTm jumped off sides. He runs out of bounds short of the first down marker.
He ran out of bounds twice that could have kept drives going. I didn't understand why he didn't put out the effort.
