There's an easy solution to this. You go ahead and think the job Martin did at Missouri State was horrible because he was essentially fielding an intramural squad his first year and didn't dominate. The rest of us, who have a shred of common sense, will look at the rebuilding job he did there as impressive.

No kidding. Martin seems like a great guy and has a promising future....but we could have done so much better. We blew this.

Again, Martin seems to be on his way to being a great coach one day, but hiring someone so early on the learning curve was utterly moronic. Could work out, but more than likely could be disastrous for the program for years to come.

Did you not read in the News Sentinel that Cheek or Dipietro was complaining about the lack of diversity at UT.
This was a diversity hire.

This was not Hamiltons decision. Hope nobody truely believes they let Hamilton make this call especially since he's gone in June. They had to make a hire with a squeaky clean reputation. You guys will see this is a great hire. Nobody knew Pearl would do what he did at UT. Give the man a chance. He will do great things and bring in much better recruits than Pearl.

These ----- blame Hamilton for everything, when it is actually Cheek and Dipietro calling the shots as directed by Pilot oil. How much was Pilot fined for gouging TN customers? And we elected Pilot governor.

Most all AD's have a list of potential coaches at any given time. There's no reason not to believe him.

I had my eye on him for a long time. Thats why I paid a search firm thousands of dollars. DUH!!!!

Why not ban Grunfield too?? His last pick for the job got us into all this mess with the 'AA. It's not like Coach Martin is working with a full deck here. I don't care if he is a NBA exec., he's the general manager for the Wizards, the second worst team in the NBA, who just won their 2 game on the road of the season last night.

Yeah. Yeah. Let crucify Grunfield, all he did was recomend the best coach TN has ever had. What an ___________ .

Ignore the last two? We went to the 8 last year and were one point away from a final four. Some people are just _______.

He made improvements at a crappy program. You know that's what I meant. And yes, I fully realized his team regressed his third season. He still should have been given time instead of being immediately discounted.
