Why not us?? Before the tournament everybody was putting auburn and Kentucky as potential 1 seeds. We beat both teams!! Kentucky twice!! Why can’t we be a number 1 if we win the conference championship? Am I missing something??
I’m reading that people even have Tennessee as a 3 seed? That’s absolutely a smack to the face of this team.!
If we win tomorrow what holds us back from the one seed? If Kentucky wins the tournament I can almost guarantee they would get the 1 seed and we’ve had a better season then them imo.

Looking at the current 1-8, I’m not convinced that TN gets a #2. A #1 looks dang near impossible.

Makes you wonder what’s the point of even doing the conference tournaments? I mean besides the mid majors and bubble teams getting the automatic bids. Why risk our key players to injury??
That would be my argument.. but since we haven’t won the tourney in like 40 years I would love to win it!!
I just feel like Kentucky,duke,Villanova and some other teams get the nod for 1 seeds even if a team like us is on par with them if not better.

It’s the Law of the Blue Bloods. We ain’t jumping Kansas or ‘zona either.

If Tennessee can make that run this year.. into the final four. I think people would start looking at us differently. We are always or usually a top 25 team but we don’t do well in March. It’s almost like the committee is scared to put us as a one seed bc it would make them look bad if we got bounced in the first round.

Arizona seems to have moved ahead of UCLA in the BBPO (Blue Blood Pecking Order). UNC and Duke could flounder while transitioning from K and even further (Hey Special Ed… I’ve recently learnt why not to use “farther”) away from Dean Smith (Roy seems kind of dumb and timed following CDS well with a 2 Coach buffer). LSU getting hammered isn’t good news for Bill Self at Kansas. He’s just their 4th coach in nearly 60 years and Larry Brown was only there for 5.

If the SEC takes away college sports from the NCAA, TN could have an opportunity to emerge as one of the new elite. Especially with LSU in trouble and Billy Donovan’s run getting buried deeper into Florida’s ancient history.

IIRC, TN is actually typically ranked in about 40% of the seasons but rarely continuously from early November through the end of the NCAAT. Barnes has taken TN there. Some idiot posters were (are?) wanting to change the head coach and were very loud about it on VN this year.

I’ll be happy with an SECT championship this year even if we miss the Sweet 16. The Sweet 16 and beyond can be next year’s goal. But… why not both now?
