I don’t think the committee will put three SEC teams as 2-seeds. It shouldn’t matter that we are from the same conference, but I’m pretty sure it does to them. That’s why UK or AU would have to drop.

It seems ludicrous, but we might get stuck with a 3-seed. Hope I’m wrong.

This morning The Athletic had UT as a 2. The writer said that there were six teams fighting for the four spots, and he said Duke had the worst record in that bunch. He put Duke as the first 3 seed.

I don't think we get a #1 seed, but we absolutely deserve a 2 unless we lose today. Recent record should absolutely matter, but what puts us over the top imho is wins versus top 5 teams, and

Duke: 1 win over top 5, 2-2 last 4, both losses to unranked teams
Purdue: 1 win over top 5, 3-2 record over last 5, one loss to unranked team.
Auburn: 0 wins over top 5, 3-3 record last 6 games
Kentucky: 1 win over top 5, 4-3 record last 7 with two losses to UT

UT: 4 wins over top 5, 12-1 since 2/1, including 3-1 over other projected 2 seeds.

7 losses just seems like too many to be #1 seed for us. I don't know. Seems more reserved for 5 loss and under teams.

If Tn wins today, they will be the best team in the SEC due to having the best overall record in the conference. They beat Arizona head to head. Tn should get a 1 seed. If they lose they should still get the two seed. Of course I am a little bias in my analysis. And Texas A&M should be in regardless of what happens today.

If we win today against A&M, we should be a #1 seed, but that is not going to happen because we aren’t a blue blood. All the projections have us sticking on the 3 line even with a win today. A win today should move us to the 2 seed but apparently it won’t. Look at the 2’s and we are more deserving than any of them. What a joke!

A week ago before the Ark game Joe had Tennessee as a 3.

Since then Tennessee has won 3 games losing none while beating Arkansas and Kentucky.

Notable teams which have lost (since then):
Duke twice, Texas Tech twice, Wisconsin twice, Huston, Baylor, Auburn, Providence, Kentucky, Arkansas twice,

And today Joe STILL has Tennessee as a 3…….what a joke. Just to prove the joke even more he “had” Arkansas as a 4 seed……now after losing twice since…….he still has them as a 4.

I think 6 loss Baylor who is 10-5 in Q1, 1 loss in Q2

Versus

A 7 loss SEC champ Tennessee who would be 11-7 Q1
With a win today

Is much closer than people are talking about

Will we get the #1?

I’d say probably not but should we be in the conversation way more?

Lunardi just said the #1 seeds are set. The best thing that can happen now is for us to be a #2 seed or high three. They mentioned Baylor’s coach being concerned as they will be a #1 seed but not in the South Region. They may end up playing in the same region as Nova in Philly. A 2 or 3 seed isn’t much difference, but I hope we get a good matchup closer to home.

Without reading what everyone else has to say (hey, gotta get some food ready before the game starts!), I don't know how we could not be seeded ahead of Kentucky, if we win today. Number 1, we won the tournament. Number 2, they've won nothing. Number 3, we beat them head to head, 2 - 1. Number 4, we beat Auburn, they didn't. Number 5, our record is identical to theirs, and I'm pretty sure we had a higher strength of schedule.

Someone tell me any thing they did better than us this year?

We’ve been overlooked bc joe lunardi doesn’t look at Tennessee like the typical tourney 1-4 seeds. He probably hasn’t even really looked at our season. No way we are not in the discussion with atleast a 2 seed. That 3 seed is ridiculous.

Total joke. We deserve a 2 seed over both of them—no question.
