NV: Shooting in Auburn

Sadly, no one can get their a$$ whipped without becoming "tough" and pulling a gun. I'm not against guns, I'm against these punk thugs who think they're men because they have a gun. If someone broke into your house and threatened you or your family and you shoot them, fine by me. If they approach you in public to argue about a girl and you punch them and have them to respond by shooting you and INNOCENT bystandards, they are cowards.

Working at a college and seeing these kids thought process nowadays, I really fear for their future and ours.

My thoughts are with the families of the victims.

Ive had 15 foster kids. all female, no pics. One thing that they all have in common is "the only way to solve a problem is to kick somebody's ass" That is a direct quote.

We have found a way to get most of them to back off from that train of thought, but not all of the. All of our fosters have been teenage girls. Most of them have been in trouble with the law and that is how they end up at our house.

I can tell you this, race makes no difference with these kids. Thugs is as thug does, and the color of the skin does not matter. HOWEVER, I can tell you that none of these kids listened to Martina McBride, or Carrie Underwood, or Christina Agulera (sp?) The most violent, and "lost" of the bunch listened to Eminem, and the punk ass thug bullcrap music that goes with them.

(disclaimer: there are some good messages in that style of music, but there are some horrible messages as well)

Anyways, these kids are not all bad kids. They had problems staying out of trouble, but 99% of that can be traced to parenting issues. (ahhh..letting an 8 y.o. listen to Eminem is a parenting issue...FWIW)

This is a sad story, and any way you look at it, it sucks.

prayers. thoughts. all of that. Just plain sad.

While you make a minor point, guns, their availability to nearly everyone it seems (especially the youth of America), and the extremely easy manner in which they can injures scores of people at on time, make them quite dangerous to innocent people. But keep doing whatever it is you do. Carrying a legal firearm :)ermm:) has little to do with the massacre in Auburn. It will most likely turn out to be young kids getting their hands on something that should be exceptionally hard to get. What is that you ask????? A weapon of mass destuction. Now then, to the subject of being legally armed. At home I am quite well armed. However, out in public I do not carry a gun. What would I carry it for other than a robbery/car-jacking? That is not really a part of my day-to-day life. Nowadays in the younger crowd (under 33), guns tend to engender a false sense of toughness. They allow people to escalate incidents that would otherwise be left alone or squashed with some sort of common sense, into tragedies (see AU last night). I am not for just anyone walking around with a pistol on their waste. For responsible adults, I have a differing opinion. -- Dialing 911 in case of emergencies is what should be done. Indiscriminate shooting is NOT a good thing. And most Americans it seems are terrible marksmen. Just hitting everybody around. Not safe. At all. Actually scary.

The only intelligent post I've seen in this entire thread.

yeah it would be a start to something no one would like. It would never keep guns out of the hands of people like the shooters in this story. All that does is take away the ability for people to defend themselves. Ridiculous

I plainly said there could be some sort of permit process. I guess we should just do nothing, maybe the problem will solve itself.

Ive been watching the live feed for 15 min. Not only do they have this situation to deal with ,but soon they'll have strong storms.

Apparently, he is in the insulation. There's no telling how hot he is.

Looks like a very nice area too. From what I've seen of Montgomery in the past, I'm shocked that they even have neighborhoods like that.

@himynameisnova police say he appears to be inside the floor under the attic. Watching lots of activity inside home as we txt

Dude's screwed.

Someone give me a play by play.. Dude left scene after shootings, been on the run and now have found dude and he's holding himself hostage. Correct?
