I think our opinions are about the same going back a few weeks or months but I think you are making a mistake stating DW is self-centered because you are not close enough to see what kind of person he is. Not fair to DW or anyone to be judged this way.

What does it matter? If you don't like what he has to say, ignore it. There's no reason to start **** because you crave attention. If you want a hug, just ask for one. Damn, why do people feel the need to stir up the hate?

The kid has other responsibilities. Unfortunately sometimes this creates other stress that makes it hard to focus on things most 19-20 year olds shouldn't have to worry about. It could deter his full potential. No inside knowledge on my part but what I do know is some things are better when you have established yourself.

Why else would someone silently commit to 4 schools? What other way can that be explained but to say he was only thinking of himself?

You ignore the part where he says he realized that was wrong. He made a mistake and admitted he made a mistake. That speaks to self awareness.

I do not know that he did and would not assume If he did that he is self-centered. I would think that he is a young man who is unsure of what decision to make. He probably has a lot of pressure in him trying to make the correct decision for his child and family.
