Oak Ridge WR Higgins decommits from Tenn

B.S.

Coach has done everything he was expected to do last season. Ends the season with 6 wins. Dominated in the bowl game, and came through in recruiting 2016. Almost everyone says we will be a top 10 team next year. What the hell does a recruit want ?,except free trips and more attention for the next year.:hi:

You didn't watch the same season I watched. The last 6 games and NW were pretty easy games. We had 2 of the hard ones (OK and FL) won and blew them on pure coaching decisions.

Recruits watch these games and they see that stuff. Jones has to show this year that he can close the deal on the hard games. GA will be tougher than last year I think. We must beat them and FL. Bama lost a lot and we have them at home so we might even be favored in that game.

Do you remember Ronald Davis? Trust me. UT did shady things too. If you don't think so, you need to get your head out of the sand. It is accepted in this region. Out west it is a little different. Big 12 is just as bad as the SEC.

Almost no university (or their fans) has been perfect, but some just seem to do it on a much more regular basis. This is my opinion, but I think a lot of people share it...

Notice, I didn't mention Florida or Georgia. They are tough competitors on the recruiting front, but they don't seem to have this issue on such an ongoing basis...Again, just my opinion.

Not talking about the occasional bbq here.

I agree. When TN was up double digits coaching staff let up on the steam.

Talent wasnt the issue last fall

I seen Jonson play 2 times and he had very bad game's even when i thought he was coming here i didn't think he would fit our system, he is pro style there would be no threat of the run with him if he came here we would have to build the offence around him instead of the other way and i GET THE FEELING that Tee is afraid to compete it's a funny thing he waiting after Wednesday, it was like he seen what we got and he is afraid to compete if thats the deal do you want him i don't, i would pull the offer now even if he changed his mind you are either BIG ORANGE all the way are you are not.

You wouldn't recognize Greenville today. Easily one of the top small cities in the US.

I live in SC and was in Greenville overnight to see the Eagles just a few months ago. Stayed downtown, plus I've spent a good bit of time there on business over the years. It's a very nice city--very similar to Knoxville in my opinion. Close in size and amenities.

Having said that, Clemson is not in Greenville. It is about 45 minutes away in the middle of a cow pasture. I actually camped out there once down the road. I guess I would prefer a more urban campus if it were me choosing where to spend four years of my life.

Not to mention--they're local homeboys. Where's your loyalty? They'll come around.

I thought for sure that Tee was going to be the crown jewel to help us lock down our state. Theres some really good instate talent in this class. This is not a good way to start out of the gates. I wonder whats been going on with some of our instate kids?

Note this is Tee Martins sons best friend. Hence the name TEE Higgins. Yes he is named after Tee Martin. Rogers T's son is a 4* player & Higgins will most likely be a 5* #1 or 2 receiver in 2017 class. UT NEEDS TO LAND THIS KID AND TEES SON!

;-)

Tee Martin has killed us with these two. It is hard to take, from a guy who was a football hero to you. Now he has done his part to hold us back. That is my opinion.

Tee's spawn is going to Clemson. Tee H is going to follow..and it sucks. But brother I sure hope you're right and I'm wrong. It stinks letting Dubbo pull kids right out of the shadow of Neyland.

Hopefully losing these two isn't a sign of things to come instate. Lots of talent at several positions.

Well it's easy to see that it is the "off-season" and finding something to get wound up about is tough. This is something that I have a tough time getting concerned about. The same is true for the Hunter decommit. It's still early in the process. We haven't even had the junior days yet. Once the staff has built the boards for the recruiting class, then it gets serious. I would think that the priorities are still a bit in flux. Also WR is not a good measure at this point given that we took 5 in the 2016 class. Same is true for DBs. The 2016 class of DBs (5) was significant. Those are big numbers for most recruits. History has been that very few kids decommit once they have decided. No reason to be concerned at this point. I think OL and DL will be the biggest, most important components of the 2017 class. We should begin to see firm commitments beginning in May and June.

If Higgins goes to Clemson it will be as much or more about his relationship with Johnson. Higgins committed to UT right after Johnson did and Johnson has been recruiting him to Clemson ever since Johnson decommiied from UT and committed to Clemson. We need one of our QBs in . waiting to reach out to Higgins and try to cement a strong QB/WR relationship to convince Higgins that UT will provide the best experience for him.
