Playin that race card again? You know thats not the reason. I would say its because of Taxation without Represention.
But since Obama the numbers have swelled and, though they would never admit it, their motives behind joining up with the movement is largely racial.
I am sure some of the folks promoting that have convinced themselves that's the reason, but when George Bush was president and we had massive deficits the number of people suggesting Texas secede probably fit into a single rage-a-holics meeting.

I could come up with about 1,000 embarrassing reasons why you troll a Tennessee site and apply the "though you'd never admit it" tag, thus making it impossible to refute.
Statements like this one and the thread you created yesterday prove you are the master of taking what a few idiots think and assuming it's a common ethos for an enormous group of people.
You can't prove me wrong. Its a matter of opinion. My opinion is that a large number of these people are racists. Your opinion is different.

Your opinion is stupid. Have you ever been to Texas? There is a huge population there that wouldn't vote for a Democrat if he promised every Texas resident would receive $100,000 a year for voting for him. If you wanted to argue the Democrat vs. Republican angle, I could buy it. This one is idiotic even for you.
My opinion is that a significant, overriding factor for a large number of this new group is that they are bigots and support it as a form of protest at having a black liberal President.
Now, would they be as strong in their opinions if Collin Powell were president? No, not saying that. And not saying that its JUST because Obama is black that they feel the way they do. I'm just saying its a big part of it, especially because, in their view and to use their terms, Obama would be considered "uppity," versus Powell, who might be viewed as more reserved and less threatening to them and their world view, as narrow as that might be.

Do you have any basis for any of this?
LG, What is your true feelings on such matters as Black Chamber of Commerce, Black Miss America, Black Democratic Caucuses? If the Black community strives so much for equality and fairness, why do they continually insist on seperating themselves from mainstream America?
I have watched them on television, I have watched them speak. Based upon my 45 years on the planet, it is my sense that they hold those views.
I am not a lie detector. I cannot provide score sheets or quotes from them to demonstrate that to you, but that is hardly meaningful as they would not be willing of course to provide those.
So, again, it is my opinion. I am convinced I am right. You may disagree, in which case I am convinced you are wrong.
If you are part of a group of citizens that has historically been blocked, either physically or economically, from a true chance to participate, and you are a distinct and identifiable minority, can you not see how you would look for opportunities to be a group and exert some power, acknolwedge each other, do those things that the rest of society does every day in ways so slight they don't even realize they are leaving you out?
The black community is tied together by a common experience neither you nor I can ever completely comprehend. It is no surprise that the same community is going to to promote itself, from within and without, by circling their own waggons from time to time.
Put it this way, you ask a member of your local black businessmen's association which he would rather have -- an equal, colorblind, and fair shake at providing his wares to the community -- or a lifetimne achievement award from the rest of the black businessmen in the community -- he'll choose the former 100 % of the time. But because he can't really get that, he'll take the latter until he can.

I wonder if that is becasue Bush WAS FROM TEXAS. If your sample is rural Mississippi and the over 90 crowds then you might be right but you can't honestly believe that the reason people don't like Obama is because he is black.I am sure some of the folks promoting that have convinced themselves that's the reason, but when George Bush was president and we had massive deficits the number of people suggesting Texas secede probably fit into a single rage-a-holics meeting.
