I keep hearing from the far right how Obama is "weak' on terrorism. I want to see some proof of his weakness. Because he is against the war in Iraq? That is certainly no barometer. We ARE NOT defending OUR country in Iraq. Every plan Obama has laid out says he is strong against terrorism. He has stated, over and over, that he is fully committed to keeping troops and military presence in Afghanistan and the pursuit of Osama Bin Laden.

Please for once, one of you right wingers, give an example showing Obama is weak on terrorism

Way to marginalize!

You are exactly what you hate!

I don't know what Obama is with regard to terrorism.

My biggest concern is that I'm not sure he knows either.

Let's look at 2 of his foreign policy statements:

1. He would take unilateral action in Pakistan without permission of the Pakistani leadership.

2. He advocates talks with any and all leaders - apparently without restriction. They want to talk, we'll talk.

These 2 positions seem contradictory and my guess is they are off-the-cuff commentary more so than a deep, ingrained philosophy of foreign policy.

In short, I get the feeling he's winging it - that's at least a little disconcerting.

Anyone who makes a blanket statement that in any way is perceived as "I am against torture under any circumstances" is weak on terrorism. Torture is no more synonymous with evil than telling the truth is with doing the right thing.

Head to head debates will decide this election and Mccain is in the hole right from the beginning. If the debates are set up by Liberal questions Mccain will lose by a landslide. If the questions ask for facts and actual plans it's too close to call.

Do any of you see Obama being assassinated?

It never gets brought up but I could see it happening.

Are you posing this question because he would be the first sometimes black president?

That, background with Islam and his views.

I'm obviously not wanting it to happen I'm just surprised it isn't brought up more.

Obama is willing to sit down and negotiate with Mahmoud Ahmadenijad.

Obama is also tied to Raila Odinga, Kenya's "opposition" leader who vowed to forcibly institute Sharia law. Odinga's Islamist followers have been rampaging throughout Kenya murdering people, particularly Christians. In 2006, Obama actively campaigned for Odinga, appearing with him in a number of campaign stops.

Several of Obama's advisers are virulent anti-Semites, specifically Samantha Power. The pastor of his church in Chicago is also anti-semitic.

Obama has said he wants to have a "Muslim Summit", not a Middle East Summit, which would include Israel.

This, along with the religious background and the fact that he us unproven in an office has swayed my vote to McCain.:good!:

No.

Every President has its haters and extremists groups out to get them.

Obama will be no different but I don't see any greater chance than the current President

That is exactly what needs to happen.

It takes a diplomatic tool off the table. There is a reason we talk to some and not others - generally they want something from us and we want something from them. With holding direct talks serves as a diplomatic lever to affect change. You may actually achieve more via this method than having a policy of talks anytime with anyone.

Sitting at the table implies that you currently recognize their position or desires. Refusing to sit says that their current position isn't worthy as a starting position for negotiation.

It's not very hard, unless you have no experience with multiparty negotiation. Then little comments like "I'll sit down with everyone" make complete sense.

Where is the argument in this election about who is the most patriotic candidate? Not one mention that Obama nor Hillary did not serve their country in the military. Seemed last election was all about who was the most Patriotic.. Seems to me that the argument is only valid when the dems have someone who served. The Reps have probably the most patriotic guy since Bob Dole and not one word.

Just saying.

I thought it interesting McCain came out and said he could lose this election due to his stance on the war and defense, if he doesn't convey his message to the people, convincing them that the right thing is being done and working. I don't like alot of McCain's political stances, but he has stones, thats for sure. This is what I believe and the reason I believe it, good stuff. I would say that the biggest part of George W's problems came from lack of communication, I don't believe that will ever be McCains downfall.
