I'll take the CDC's word for it. She was a doctor like Dr. J was a doctor. The only doctorate she had is a PhD in English. Now that I think about it, I'm more qualified to discuss TB than she is. It appears she passed away about a year ago. I'm sure she was a very intelligent woman, but this particular topic is outside her scope of expertise.

I would advise being extremely skeptical about anything you learn from a youtube video.

She didn't quote anything from the CDC did she?? OH WAIT, that's right she did. She is also in Medical Law which makes her 100x more qualified than you to discuss these matters. You keep believing what the CDC wants you to believe. You think they tell you everything?? I would bet that they know things that would make the average American's head spin when it comes to diseases. Like any government department, only let the public know as little as possible so you don't freak them out. Chaos has a solution, its called ignorance, and 90% of the American people are in this category including most if not everyone on this board are as well (not saying people are ignorant so don't take it that way)..

That's funny and untrue at the same time. I looked through a few law school catalogues back in the day when I was trying to decide what to do after undergrad. I didn't see any epidemiology courses in there. I'd prefer not to take advice from someone that has helped destroy American medicine.

Gee, maybe if Hillary or Obama become president they can make John Edwards the Surgeon General. He's way more qualified than some doctor.

Unless the CDC and the WHO are in cahoots, they are telling us everything. I doubt this whole Bird Flu scare would have even been an issue if they were as protective of possible "freaking out" as you claim.

Additionally, there is a vaccine for TB. If it were a major threat, I imagine you'd see a bit more of a demand for it.

Guess you've never heard of MDR TB?? It takes two years to cure, costs between 250,000 and 1.2 million for a single patient, and is 60% fatal if not treated quick enough. Regular TB is on the decline but the MDR strain is definitely on the rise.

I understand that the Elevators at MIB headquarters keep going down and stop at the double secret probation headquarters of the CDC-LS unit. That's the CDC-lunatic special oufit. They are also missing all identifiable body parts, breathe with special tanks and have no skin exposed to the open air.

Look, I am NOT a conspiracy theorist AT ALL. I do believe however without a shadow of a doubt that most if not all departments of the federal government DO NOT give out all information that pertains to things they let us know. If you think they let us know everything about a particular situation or problem, then you have ZERO common sense.

you must have thought I was being sarcastic. Dude, come on. I've got common sense. The CDC would never want to inform us of potential problems so that we might avoid them. Their function is completely different. Their charter calls for them to address problems only after they've reached epidemic status.

This was in 2005 as well and come from the World Health Organization. Also, before you go trying to contradict what this one is, remember that there is about a 150-200 million person difference in populations in Mexico and the US.

As far as antibiotics and vaccines go, yes I know the difference and they use 4 different drugs to treat TB now and it takes about 6 months to cure from what I have read. Thing is, two of the drugs they use for normal TB do not work against MDR TB. I guess I should have been more precise in my comments so you wouldn't get mixed up. Sorry KPT. :hi:

The map you used still does not indicate a frequency of TB infection serious enough to warrant any scare of an American (or even Mexican) epidemic. Use wikipedia or dictionary.com to look up the definition of vaccine. Drug resistance has nothing to do with vaccines.

As far as "curing" TB, you are more than likely to be "cured" in faster than 6 months. The long treatment period is to make sure that the TB in your body is dead as a damn doornail. They go overboard with it, honestly. But it's a good thing, because it prevents any possible chance of the bacteria developing resistance.

You can't be serious. IMO racial equality has went past the tipping point and is leaning towards reverse racism. I know you are laughing your ass off but I believe it is true. When I turn on my TV and can watch Black Entertainment Television but can't find a White Entertainment Television, you can't tell me it is not present in society. When a black couples' kids can benefit from the United Negro College Fund but my kids can't benefit from a United Caucasian College Fund, you can't tell me it is not present. When a company promotes a black employee instead of a white employee, whom is more qualified, just so they meet the so called "quota", you can't tell me it is not present. When black comedians can get on TV and talk about "honky" this and "cracker" that and nobody lifts a finger only to try to execute Imus for what he said, you can't tell me it is not present. When a whole month is dedicated to black history when you know Sharpton and whats his face would raise hell if someone suggested a white history month, you can't tell me it is not present. Racism is stupid, and works both ways, but unfortunately is here to stay. Racial equality IMO has went TOO far. I know you will reply about how much of a racist I am which is fine with me but I assure you that I am not racist. Equal is equal and the above examples do not represent "equality".

Guessing that labor costs make up about 20% of the final price of meat. If cattle farmers doubled their pay a $3 pound of hamburger meat would cost a whopping $3.60. I dont know what your idea of "through the roof" is but I totally disagree. Hell if I could pay 50% more for my meats, Veggies, Dairy, etc. to rid this country of the drain on the economy that illegal immigrants are, I would sign up today.
