I have to say tonight will lie in my mind and heart for the rest of my life. The speech that Barack gave has made me think that my sons have a chance at the American Dream. These last 7 years have made me a very jaded and cynical man. I have seen this country I love become so divided that I really was starting to think that I would see the end of America in my lifetime.

Obama gave something to me tonight that no other politican has ever given me. Hope for the future.

I know that sounds corny and stupid. I know some people reading this will roll their eyes the moment they read it,but I dont care. Barack moved me tonight and I had to share this feeling with friends.

I am tired of being a cynic. I want to have hope again.

Well it seems you bought into the only platform he's truly defined for his presidency- hope.

This country has been divided down political lines for decades now! This is not a new phenomenon, and if you think we are a divided country now, just look around after couple of years if Obama gets elected. You are being sold an old Pinto with a new paint job. Nothing new about it just clever marketing.

I feel really sorry for you if you're looking for a president to provide you hope for your life. I don't know your circumstances, but that's a very sad commentary on your life.

How on earth do you view anything about the Obama candidacy as anything but divisive? He's not remotely what he initially said he was going to be. All of the rhetoric that won him the nomination have nothing to do with who he has now become as a politician.

Finally, if a deluded man promising you the world by the government giving it to you is somehow comforting, I guess you got what you wanted - all tied up in a pretty speech. Congrats.

Obama is a politician...he can make you believe anything he says. He WANTS you to think that everything will be 100 times better if he is elected, thats what he is out to do. Yes, it was a very well speech but I take it with a grain of salt.

Obama must be a genius!!! He has people bowing at his feet from his hopes and dreams of change, but not once has he made any concreter plans or assessments of what or how he will actualy change anything. HERE'S his SPEECH

blah blah doo dahh day doo da HOPE!!! doddole dar de da CHANGE!!!hum diggy dag ter BUSH IS BAD. This all followed by crowds cheering.

WHAT A MAN!!!

SOOOOOOOOOO It seems that most of you are Republicans. Like Mcain? I personally dont like the way the world has been these paste 8 years, but I just dont trust Obama with it at all.

I DONT TRUST ANY OF THEM! I would love to see a true blue collar person have a real shot at office. Someone who has lived pay day to pay day. Someone who has had to choose between buying medicine or food. Obama can claim he is one of the "boys" but lets see his tax returns....

I'm not a mccain fan. i'm a conservative, not a republican. however i'll vote for mccain over obama's b.s. anyday

You assume that they cant manage because they do not have much to work with. I say you might find one of the best budget analysist out there in someone who is forced to watch every penny! Might eliminate some of the BS overspending on crap in this county.

you've got to be kidding me? if you have to rely on someone else to give you hope (especially in America) then you really need to take a look at yourself in the mirror and ask why you need other to give you hope.

do you remember that scene in the Godfather, the beginning where the godfather slaps his actor nephew around because he's crying. he told him to stand up and be a man. maybe that's what you need.

Obama will do NOTHING for this country...The world WILL probably be better but he will yank all the troops out in Iraq and they will just come over here and attack us then the world will be hell and we will be like...WTF why did we put him in.....
