I do have a horrible feeling Leia will use the force at some point during this miniseries

I think they'll give hints that she starts to feel force sensitive but I don't think they'll show her actually using the force. Or something like Reva next episode may say something like she senses Leia is strong with the force.

I hate to Monday Morning Quarterback episode 3 - but if Vader had used two hands on that light saber, he could have finished off Obi-Wan and changed the course of history. Maybe Anakin suffered some brain trauma or was just off his game that day, but he's got to use two hands on the light saber when fighting the Jedi. He'll have a full week to think about that mistake.

My question is:

If Vader can force choke Obi-Wan and drag him through a fire . . . why does he just let him go once he's separated from him by fire??

I am absolutely blown away by how bad some of this acting is. I feel like if a role isn't going to a known actor, it's cast thru nepotism.

I'm not trying to be a smartass when I say this but....for dramatic purposes. I mean the entire SW saga is full of moments where you ask why the character did something that seemingly didn't make sense and didn't jive with other actions.

Also equally kind of lame but to me
Vader saw how weak and "rusty" Obi-Wan was and I think at that point he wanted him to suffer and was almost toying with him. So I think he figured he was going to be able to catch up pretty easily. Vader seems to thrive on the hunt

Yeah, that was my thought as well. He thinks/knows he’ll see Obi Wan again. The show sets up Vader as not caring about anything other than finding Obi Wan.

I totally get what you're saying and you're 100% right. It was just a little bizarre to me that he did what he did and then 60 seconds later when confronted with the same situation, just stood there.

I took it as he started toying with him when he realized how broken down Obi-Wan was.

Pretty much everything major past TESB has been basically the same stories over and over with different characters. Welcome to Star Wars.
The Inquisitors is a new angle for those who didn’t watch the animated series…as well as other Jedi who escaped Order 66.

I had the same question. Holes in this story.

Kreese wouldn't have let Obi-Wan get away

He wasn’t trying to kill him there. He stated his intention was to make obi wan suffer as he had. Thus, he put obi wan in flames just as anakin was after their battle in revenge of the sith. He even told obi wan while he was in the flames that it was “ only the beginning” of his pain. Vader was clearly playing with his food. “The years have made you weak”

Also on the one hand fighting, I took it the whole interaction as kind of a throwback to the Luke/Vader match in TESB. Vader fought Luke with one hand for a while and toyed with him, and then dominated him to show him he could end him. Pretty much the same thing happened with Kenobi this episode, except instead of wanting him to join him (Luke) he wanted him to suffer as much as possible.

Makes sense. I just thought it was weird:
1) How easily he gave up.
2) Nobody fired back.
3) They let the Loader just walk in and scoop Obi-Wan up and plausibly just walk out of there.

3) is because the game of thrones sister was sniping them down left and right from one angle and they couldn't find the origin of the shots fired

Anakins ego has always been his issue. Why he lost the first fight and even Obi told him he had low ground and don’t do it.

He is now completely in his god mode form (per cannon) and honestly had no intentions of killing Obi. He wants to hurt him.

But here is something nobody mentioned: Anakin was very jealous of Obi and thought he and Padme were having an affair. Obi just admitted he wished he was Leia father. So was Anakin right and he was secretly lusting after her?

What’s most annoying about SW purists is they seem hellbent on ensuring everyone else is as miserable as they are.

I literally laughed out loud.

I was born in 1977 so SW has been a part of my life since birth. I shake my heads at some of these people. They hold up a couple lines of dialog from ANH like it’s in the Constitution with no room for interpretation.

Never mind Obiwan said “Darth Vader betrayed and murdered (Luke’s) father.”

Yep. He does the same thing in Rebels when he takes on Kanan and Ezra. You see it in the Rogue One scene too. The one-hand style is pretty consistent for Vader.
