I have a job so I can't really get out and mingle but I've seen enough interviews to draw my conclusions
So do the majority of the people in the movement. But you did prove the point that you have drawn your conclusions with no real information other than maybe what someone told you on TV.

so the majority can take all this time off work and go sleep in parks? Interesting professions they must have.

and no, I don't listen to what others tell me and am smart enough to draw my own conclusions. There is no cohesive message except that someone has money and others want it because life is not fair. Boohoo, major in Sanskrit and then you're surprised you aren't employable? Hope it was worth the $60k education to learn that life lesson

I am not trying to be a d-bag, but what was your insider info on the surprise? I really am just curious and not calling you out.

I'm still not at real liberty to say, because what I was told is still in existence and still a possibility to be used sometime in the near future. It is uni related, though.

If this is what you believe, I would have to say you are misinformed.

Look, if I go to Neyland Stadium on Saturday, and I video interviewed a few drunken idiots or people that knew nothing about football, would this be proof that Vol fans are drunken idiots that know nothing about football? Of course not. I would have to look deeper to see what Vol fans are really like and what they represent. That's all I'm saying.

except that there have been hundreds of interviews with a multitude of talking points thrown out. Keep believing this is anything more than a bunch of out-of-work youngsters mad because some guy got a bonus while they ate ramen.

If they were being honest about it they would have started in DC. Surely there's a geography major in the bunch who can point them in the right direction.

They are definitely on the wrong street.

I've done a lot of reading and research on this thing, and it will accomplish nothing.

Until there is a real effort to directly target the people who may be willing to do something (i.e. Congress) it's going to be a fruitless movement. Protesting the "evil 1%", the people who are being blamed for this, is going to do nothing. You think they're going to change what they do?

This.

Congress doesn't give a **** if they're protesting in the streets elsewhere. If they actually went to the people who actually create the laws... maybe.

I know quite a few very intelligent geography majors that are moving on to do some interesting things. This whole stigma about majors and the intrinsic value of them got old a while ago. The truth is that in the current economy you can find an unemployed person of every education variation.

inb4geography major. No. I'm not. lol

it was a joke (like my Sanskrit one) but who is more likely to find employment faster- someone with a technical degree or a lib arts major? And are people spending insane amounts of money on "worthless" degrees? If you are 22yo and fresh out of college then you better have a skill or be ready to start at the bottom

Well, I guess we will just have to disagree on this one. That's OK. But I would say if you would stop by an Occupy site or even dig a little deeper online for some balanced info on the subject, you would see some people that you would relate to. They likely look just like you, they have jobs, careers, families, kids. They are not just "barefoot hippies" as they have been portrayed. Are there some of those there too? Yes. And those are a lot of what you see camping out. But there are many average Americans that come out too and they support the Occupy Movement. In fact a poll I saw recently said 53% of Americans support the movement.

I agree, and I believe this is some of the information that's not always getting out. One of the Occupy movement's main points is to get the money out of politics and elections.

They're failing at it.

Like I said, getting in the face of the people you have issues with is going to accomplish nothing, especially when they don't give a flip.

Well, we are discussing it and so are many people. The awareness and discussions are increasing in size and scope. So I would say the Occupy movement is being successful in this regard. This is the way movements starts. You can look at the Civil Right's Movement from the 60's and see some similarities.

I don't argue that there are future baristas at Occupy Wall Street.

surely you aren't comparing this ridiculous exercise to the civil rights movement. There is absolutely no similarity

If getting people to talk about you is a success the Kiffin was amazing and Tebow is the future of the NFL. People are laughing

The main objective of the movement should be a push to get fresh people into Congress to attempt to get some real change.

The general public does not see this.
