First off, I really don't know how many fans there are of da Sox in Knoxville, or Tennessee for that matter, but I'd like it if I weren't the only fan of the Red Sox on here.

I'm really optimistic about our 2009 season. We got a good bullpen, and our lineup don't look too shabby either. Hopefully, we can show those damn Yankees that spending $350 million on C.C. Sabathia and Mark Texiera don't mean jack s***, as long as we win the division.

I grew up a braves/yankees fan... odd combo I know. I really just wanted to be the first with the obligatory "boston sucks", to which I'm sure I'll be getting a "yankees suck". It's all in good fun :good!:

I see. I kinda like the Braves. They're alright. I do hate the Yankees with a strong passion.

Just to recap this season so far.

Rays have a winning record against da Sox.
We've swept the Yankees.
Papelbon is a sick closer. See Sunday night for further reference.
20-12 this year, playing tonight at Anaheim.
Still a game back to the Blue Jays in the division.

I went up to the Sox/Yanks series a few weeks ago.I had a blast and enjoyed the sweep. While there found a couple of articles on the Kelly kid who commited to UT as a QB but opted for the Sox. It seems his future position is undecided. He will pitch until he reaches 100 innings then will play SS for the remainder of the season. At the time of the article his era was below 2.00 (I think).

Dang, Casey Kelly's doing a pretty darn good job there, where ever he's at.

And I wish I could have been there at the Sox/Yankees series.

My bad, he is 3-0, 0.90 era 20 innings pitched.

Plays for Middle A, Greenville(SC) Drive.

4-0 in 6 games with a 1.15 ERA. Might get to Wilmington(NC) Blue Rocks in High A before the MLB All-Star break.

Im a fellow Sox fan!

2 thing's are worrying me about this team so far. 1. is David Ortiz decline. 2. is the consistency of our starting rotation.

We have the best bullpen in baseball & imo it just got better when the Sox dropped Javier Lopez & brought up Daniel Bard 2 day's ago.

Jason Bay has been tearing the leather of the ball, he is exactly what the Sox needed after the whole Manny drama.

Oh yea, it worries me that he hasn't hit a homerun. Very concerning there.

Deal Ortiz for a decent hitter and some young players to a team who will jump on a 'slugger'

Yea worrie's me also, but he has been making contact on the ball lately.

If the starting rotation could just start stringing some good start's together this team could be dominant, i think we could win a 100 game's.

The thing that is really hurting Ortiz right now is that his hand's are slow to the ball. He is seeing the pitches real good but his hand's just cant catch up to the fastball right now.

Could be an effect of getting older, or maybe not having the conditioning that he used to have. I don't know. I do know that a win, and a loss to Toronto will have us tied for the AL East lead. And with them playing the Bankees, we might be tied before the day is out.

We could get a couple people who are close to being major league ready for him, I believe. and maybe a respectable hitter as well.

We will have to gut out a win tonight, Pedroia or Youk wont be playing. So that means Lugo will be @ SS, Nick Green will be @ 2B, & Jeff Bailey @ 1B.

You your probably right. Im ready to see Lars Anderson, they say he is our future 1B & he has alot of power. I expect him to make his MLB debut sometime this year.

Not feeling too good about that lineup.

Me either. Masterson will have to pitch a gem tonight!

Speaking of Lugo though, im so tired of him. He has had many chance's to live up to the nice contract he got but he does nothing but disappoint. I wouldnt be suprised if Theo made it a priority to get rid of him this coming offseason.

Guess we should have felt better about the lineup. We won 4-3, albeit with a late rally.

Still a game back in the division, as Toronto beat the Yanks 5-1.

Yea woke up this morning to see that we come back & won. Good outing by Masterson.

Youk was put on the 15 day DL yesterday & Pedroia is expected back tonight.

Well, unless you have MLB Extra Innings, or the .tv package, here are the Sox games that will be on TV for the rest of the year.

May 23 - vs. New York Mets(7:10 PM) on MLB Network
May 24 - vs. New York Mets(1:35 PM) on TBS
June 27 - @ Atlanta Braves(4:00 PM) on FOX
August 8 - @ New York Yankees(4:10 PM) on FOX
August 22 - vs. New York Yankees(4:10 PM) on FOX
September 5 - @ Chicago White Sox(4:05 PM) on FOX

Now, when those games aren't on TV, you can follow them using MLB Gameday on MLB.com. Just go to redsox.com, and click on the game next to the slideshow at the top of the page. Cool little feature.

Of course, if that isn't enough for you, you can always go to this forum

They will have a stream of the game live. You will have to download some programs(most notably, TVAnts and Sopcast).

Other than that, enjoy.
