Yea woke up this morning to see that we come back & won. Good outing by Masterson.

Youk was put on the 15 day DL yesterday & Pedroia is expected back tonight.

Was following on MLB Network and MLB Gamecast. Was estatic when we got that last out.

We've got Wakefield on the mound tonight, so it's all good.

Bad thing is, Ortiz still hasn't had a long jack yet. I keep waiting for him to crush one, kinda like a bad dream, but it just isn't happening.

But damn, he took a fastball to the wrist last night. Scored us a run though.

ill expect ESPN to pick up plenty of Red Sox games. no worries. my love for the red sox translated from hate for the yankees and my brother lived in boston for awhile. Things are looking pretty good if Ortiz can hit a home run. also Jason Bay is probably one of the most clutch players in the game today

This was about the same story for me. I became a Red Sox fan in 2004, at the tender age of 14 :).

Yes, the 2004 ALCS made me a Sox fan for life. I said, "Any team with that kind of heart and courage, especially in the face of certain elimination, for them to battle back and win the CS, and eventually the World Series, is a team I'd be honored to root for"

My dad is a huge Celtics fan, and I root for them unless they're playing Denver. I like the Patriots. Not enough to be a fan of them, but I like em. And actually, I like the Bruins as well, just not as much as I like the Preds or the Pens.

My dad also is a huge C's fan, all he ever talk's about is the day's of Bill Russel & Larry Bird. So far in my life time i have been able to see the Red Sox win 2 world series, the Patriots win 3 Super Bowls, & the Celtics win 1 NBA Championship. Now it's time for the Bruins to give me the final one.

Tonight's Game

Boston Red Sox(21-12) vs. LA Angels of Anaheim(16-15)

Starting Pitchers for Tonight

Tim%20Wakefield.jpg

Tim Wakefield(4-1) vs. Matt Palmer(3-0)

Scouting Reports
Wakefield

Wakefield has been Boston's best starting pitcher out of the gate, giving up three earned runs or fewer in five of his six starts. Wakefield's five quality starts lead the team. In his last start, Wakefield allowed four hits and two runs over six innings against the Indians. He walked four and struck out three in that one. This is Wakefield's second start of the season against the Angels. The first one was on April 10, when the righty allowed six hits and three runs over six innings.

Palmer
One of the surprise stories of the young season, the 30-year-old right-hander dispensed another strong outing against the Royals on Friday night, holding them to one earned run on two hits and three walks across 5 1/3 innings. Palmer had five strikeouts, continuing to baffle hitters with the movement on his cut fastball and sinker while mixing in off-speed stuff. This will be his seventh Major League start, and he feels he has found a new approach by improving his mechanics and getting a more direct path to home plate. The results have been impressive so far.

I also believe that Pedroia is supposed to be back in the lineup tonight.

Pedroia will be back tonight. Wake is on the mound for us, so far this season he has been the ace of this staff. I keep waiting for that one game where he implodes, hopefully he will keep me waiting for another day.

If he's going to do it, it will be now, or September. The humidity on much of the east coast makes that knuckleball of his even sicker than it already is, meaning he usually does well in the summer.

I don't know how long Jason Bay crushed that ball, but the guys on the radio estimate 425-430 feet.
