McShay is an idiot grade A...if this is true he got some inside info but his analysis is garbage. You would be better to listen to some random drunk dude at the bar.

Yeah but from the looks of it ESPN pretty much has him there ready as Kiper-in-waiting for whenever Mel decides to retire in the upcoming future

NFL scouts agree. (see post #19)

It's pretty ridiculous.

These so called "analysts"

I honestly have yet to see an accurate one in any sport.

They fail at bracketology.

They fail at draft picks.

They fail at fantasy baseball.

They fail at coaching rumors.

What are they good for? Blowing hot air?

NOT SO FAST, they stole THE NFL NETWORK's Adam Schefter and he is pretty good. He may be more of an insider in-waiting to Mort or John Clayton. I can see then going after Corey Chavious somewhere along the line.

Please, I internshipped a summer at an NBC affiliate in their sports department. They had two reporters: the older guy who'd been there almost forever and the new younger guy, who everyone and their mother could tell was there to replace the first guy whenever he retired or was forced to be fired.

I've seen this situation before, and that's exactly what this is. McShay is Kiper-in-waiting until Kiper retires...at which point he will ceremonially hand his hair piece to his heir

I would love to have Dez or Haden. I vote no on Thomas or Clausen.

As nice as Dez would be on the offensive side of the ball, they have bigger needs on defense that need to be addressed, and the lack of a second round pick really doesnt allow them to take a luxury pick like WR

I'd say look for them in the 1st round to - assuming they treat their defensive needs first - go after either the DE from USF, the DE from GA tech, or a CB name Kyle Wilson from Boise. Those seem the most likely

Haden will be gone by their 17 pick and I'm not quite sure whether they really are looking a thomas or at the safety position; I think they have DEs/dline, CB, and LB ahead of it on their needs chart. Most likely Haden will be gone by their pick as well

They will probably draft a qb late as someone to raise to become the backup for when Collins retires/is cut. But dont think it will be jimmy clausen or anyone. The first round pick is most likely defense

Edit: the titans signed QB Chris Simms to a 1-year deal today; so it's probably less likely that they go after a QB at all in the draft now

Just heard on the radio that the Raiders are shopping Darren McFadden. They quoted someone from ESPN, didn't catch his name.
