This is the problem with soccer. Seems like soccer players can never move on. They always have to whine and complain in the game and after it. If the other team does anything at all, they act so offended, then the next minute they will up the ante and take it to the next level. Greece got some calls and Costa Rica reacted by players falling all over the pitch.
I don't watch enough soccer other than the EPL, so is this just players desperate given the stakes? I know soccer is always annoying with flops and whining, but this has been ridiculous. Even Robben (who is a flopper) dove once or twice before he earned the legit foul.
On another note: Mexico's manager was childish. I understand his points about the referee's country being against Mexico, but at the end of the day his team choked and lost. Absolutely no class from him ranting on the refs like that. At least Mexico is a consistent team in the WC. Not many teams have the skill to lose 6 times in a row in the round of 16.
Cause basketball doesn't have the same egregious flops. See the Miami heats 2013 roster and you have a handful of them. They flop and complain just as much.
Tom Brady. Enough said.
Baseball has guys act like they got hit by a pitch and complain about calls.
It's every major sport. Not just soccer. Soccer get an unfair reputation. The flopping culture is more prevalent with Latin countries and Italy though.
