Regardless of how screwed Croatia was by the ref, Brazil looked shaky. Hulk was nowhere. Neymar made a few cameos with his goals but was otherwise pedstrian. Now Oscar looked fantastic.

People complaining about the refs don't mention the defenders staring at the ball while running alongside Oscar instead of making a play on the ball or cutting the man down, nor do they comment about Croata's goalie who showed the reaction time of a first time goalie, and if he fists the pk after guessing correctly, it doesn't get thru both his hands.

Oscar was fun to watch today. I didn't see the post game, I'm guessing they made neymar motm?

Brasil didn't play a great game (for the most part) but still came out ahead of a solid Croatia team (with a little help from the ref, but then again they are at home and they're Brasil).

They'll keep getting better I think and if they get in a groove will be dangerous to go the distance. We'll see if all of their guys show up consistently and how Cesar plays

Ok. You've been identified as a Brazil homer. Good to get that out in the open after the first game of the tournament.

Croatia has a legitimate complaint but they really had no shot to take a point from that match so I don't see the real harm to their prospects although that referee should not be allowed to officiate any more matches in this tournament lest he screw up in a truly contested match.

People are going to be paying attention to the WC who don't usually watch international soccer and the officiating is always accentuated in these situations because the bottom line is that the Maradonaesque way that the came is interpreted in a lot of the world is contrary to the American appreciation for fair play and equality under the rules.

I like Brazil because I have some close Brazilian friends, and because I thought I was Pele as a kid. I also like Italy because I have an Italian jersey and have been to Italy. And Spain because their women are hot. And USA because I have to as an 'Murican man. And a few underdogs that will pop up here and there.

One thing you won't see is me acting like a beatch whining about refs. It's soccer. wtf do you expect. Croatia couldn't score a goal and some of you want to give them a W.

I ***** more about the player diving more than the ref. I think Croatia very Much deserved a point out of the game, but that fell apart with the Fred dive.

Does anyone know if ESPN is covering everything or do I need to be looking at Telemundo to catch all the games?

Did ESPN forget to hire announcers/commentators who speak English? I have to mute this Mexico/Cameroon game.
