Davila gets the W, Reid gets the L, and DCam gets his first homer of the summer off of Davila...

I've been waiting for a couple of years for a UT pitcher to face a UT batter in summer ball...that's the first time it's happened, of course Davila is not yet a Vol, but I'll take it.

nice job DCam. Do you happen to have updated stats for Davila? Sounds like he may be struggling a bit but I haven't followed all his appearances.

I am shocked that he pitched tonight, with the draft on Monday. He's only had two appearances... I can dig it up for ya, give me a sec...

After first appearance...
Garrett Davila: 13.50 ERA, 0.2 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 SO, 1 WP, .333 B/Avg

Tonight: 3 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

Yes, it will...I wish I could have seen that, you know there's gonna be some yucking it up with those three tonight...the announcers didn't even make the connection.

Pruett comes in as PH, B9, runner at 1B, 1 out, down 4-2...hits into a dbl play, before that AB, he was batting .500...Marshals lose 4-2...

All that's left tonight is the west coast teams, as i said earlier, Langhorne didn't get the start...The LA Brewers (Moberg and Rodgers) are one of the hardest summer teams to follow...I'll post the stats tomorrow but it may be the evening before I can get to it...

That was fun, yawl have a good night and weekend...GBO!!!

Welp, I did one last search...lol...the LA Brewers are like ESPN...They hate me...

Moberg: 3 AB, 3 R, 1 H, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 HBP

Rodgers: 5 AB, 2 R, 2 H, 1 RBI

Moberg was the lead off man, JRog batted in the 7 spot...all I got...

Grizzlies rally, local high schooler picks up first CPL win - Gastonia Grizzlies - Gaston Gazette

GASTONIA — Garrett Davila came to Sims Legion Park on Friday night thinking he might pitch two innings.

The way the first two went, why not one more?

The South Point senior and a potential Major League Baseball draftee next week pitched three strong relief innings and earned his first Coastal Plain League win as the Gastonia Grizzlies defeated Morehead City 5-3.

“I felt really good,” Davila said. “He was letting me stay out there. He kept asking me if I was all right, giving me a chance to keep going.”

Davila, a left-hander and Tennessee signee, struck out four, walked one and gave up one run and one hit — a home run by Dominick Cammarata in the ninth. And wouldn’t you know it? Cammarata is a Tennessee player himself.

The appearance was Davila’s second of the summer.

“It’s awesome to get out with these college guys and pick up a win,” Davila said. “It’s fun to get to know them and play with them.”

Freeman again does not pitch in a 10 inning game...

Cammarata got the start as DH, batting in the lead off spot...0/3 so far w/ a couple of HBP...

Pruitt starts at 2B for the Marshals, 1/3 and a walk so far, batting in the 3 hole...

Langhorne gets the start at SS, made some good plays, K's 1st at bat, walks the 2nd...

Moberg gets the start at 2B, batting lead off position, 0-1, w/ a walk and a K so far...

JRog gets the start at 3B, batting in the 3 hole, he's 0/1 with a walk and a K...

Richard Jackson got his first start of the summer season last night going 3.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits, walking 2 with 1 K. His ERA is 2.70.

Eric Freeman is the expected starter tonight for the Valley Blue Sox. This will be his first start since his junior year of high school.

Brett Langhorne got the start at SS last night for the SLO Blues, a game that wasn't decided until the 15th inning. 5 AB, 1 R, 2 H, 2 SO, 3 BB...he's batting .333....

Both Moberg and Rogers started last night for LA, both picked up a hit while Rodgers also scored a run...

Jared Pruett is batting .438...DCam is batting .200...

Freeman pitched 6 innings, gave up 4 hits, and 2 runs with 5 BB and 2 K...gave up both runs in the 5th. The Valley Blue Sox lose 2-0.
