Many of the Johnson City Doughboys including Vol Ethan Payne and Kendall Diggs from Arkansas playing with AxMen will be helping Kirby with his camp on Saturday at Daniel Boone in Gray, TN. He will also have at least one future UT Lady Vol softball player helping.

He is hitting for a nice average, 350. So how can his OBP be less than that at 318? Something is strange there.

You technically could have a lower OBP than BA if you don’t walk a lot. BA only takes into account your at bats, whereas OBP takes into account plate appearances. So if a player has a lot of sac flys/bunts then their OBP would go down while their BA would be unaffected.

Edit: I just went to their site and he currently has 47 AB, 16 H, 11 BB, 0 HBP, 0 SF. I don’t know if he has any sac bunts or how many times he has reached on error so I will assume he has 58 plate appearances. He has a combined 27 hits/walks so he should have a .466 OBP.
