A 9-9 SEC team isn't getting in, simple as that...11-7 is about the cutoff, Vandy had 2 games on Florida in league play, a RPI about 5 away...with Bama/UT you're talking a 1 game difference and a RPI about 17 spots difference.
If the RPI is 17 spots difference I agree with you. My fear is Tenn is 18-13(10-8) with an RPI of 48-52 and Bama is 19-11(12-6) with an RPI of 58-62. I think Bama gets the nod in that case.
Tennessee: 18-13(10-8) RPI:48 SOS:14
Alabama: 19-11(12-6) RPI: 61 SOS: 72
Yea, I don't see them getting the nod because of 1 more conference win. Honestly at that point if Bama was getting in it'll be at someone else's expense, that would be an all time snub with the numbers Tennessee will have.
Even at 12-6 their SOS numbers remain the same, projected RPI at 19-11(12-6) is 62, SOS of 72...so again, can you name me a SEC team to ever get in with those numbers?
And I don't except the 72 number as I found one projection that said 58.
Not sure why we keep going back and forth. If bAma goes 12-6 they are in imo and there is evidence both for and against that thinking.
Leave it at that?
What evidence, that's what I'm asking for???
Ok...RPI north of 60 and SOS north of 58???
