South Carolina was 23-8(11-7) had a RPI of 64 and a SOS of 73 and was left out last season

Your hypothetical Bama team...19-11(12-6) RPI of 62 and SOS of 72

My oh my oh my.

72 SOS isn't an accepted number as others have it better. Time will tell if it's correct.

So I guess leaving it at that isn't going to fly?

Like I said 12-6 teams don't get left out of the dance very much at all. I don't think it Bama would either.

I could be wrong and I could be right. I hope we don't find out.

So there is no evidence, why can't you admit that? There's literally not a single case of what you're suggesting you think happens.

You say 12-6 teams don't get left out yet within 2 minutes I debunked that claim, I ask if you can provide any teams to support that and you say "leave it at that"?

Lol

I can you give countless teams that went 12-6 that got in and I bet you can't give me more than a few that didn't.

This is hilarious

Go ahead, name me all the 12-6 SEC teams that got in with a SOS north of 58, I'll wait...

Lol.

SEC being back into the top 5 RPI leagues is helpful for any SEC team on the bubble. Hopefully Tennessee reaps the benefit of the league being better than it has in past years. Luckily the Vols don't have to go 12-6 like some teams might have to do to get in.

Here's hilarious, when your own claim backfires

Here's all the SEC teams to go 12-6 since expansion...

2016: n/a
2015: n/a
2014: UK in SOS:4, UGA out SOS:70
2013: Alabama out SOS:60, UK out SOS:62

4 of them, 3 got left out, 1 got in with a SOS of 4....need more evidence?

That's what happens when you play a top 10 SOS

I wonder if that 2013 year was the worst year ever for the SEC as it was 9th that year. That's embarrassing.

Has it ever been worse?

Added RPI's...

Here's all the SEC teams to go 12-6 since expansion...

2016: n/a
2015: n/a
2014: UK in RPI:17 SOS:4, UGA out RPI:66 SOS:70
2013: Alabama out RPI:60 SOS:60, UK out RPI:56 SOS:62

So all 3 SEC teams to go 12-6 and be left out had a RPI north of 56 and a SOS north of 60, hmm...

Lol.

The league will benefit a lot from being in the top 5 this season.

Ok Bruin, hang your hat on that when literally no evidence is backing you.

Again, if you want to make that claim then make an intelligent one...if the league is gonna benefit that means more teams are gonna get in, not a one or the other. Alabama may sneak in under this scenario as a last four in, but it won't be at Tennessee's expense, they'll both get in.

Bama would be nearly the same as the 2 teams in 2013. With one huge difference. The strength of the SEC in 13 was vastly less than this year. 9th is a big difference than 5th.

Boom.
Let's leave it at that.

I'm loving this back and forth. Learning a lot about RPI, I've never really looked into it that much. Just figured winning ultimately takes care of itself.

I don't understand the Bruin infatuation with Bama though. It's like you want them to get in, so that somehow you can twist it into something regarding Barnes recruitment of Key.

I hate Bama with all my being.
I do think it would be great for the SEC to get 6 teams in this year though.

I'm just giving you a hard time man because of how much you like Key.

I only want the SEC to get in one team, UT. Could care less about the rest of the league.

I will pull for all SEC teams except Kentucky when it comes to tourney time.

Same here. I never considered how bad a low-life team can wreck your numbers, win or lose. How a Missouri matchup in the SECCT could be a killer even if we curb-stomped them by 40.
