Official Bubble Watch Thread

I just think when you look at specific teams on the bubble Tenn wouldn't have been good enough. Maybe Rhode Island but that's about it IMO.

Illinois is 17-13(9-9) RPI:57 SOS:24, so basically the Tennessee team we are discussing with a slightly lesser RPI & SOS....they are the last team in on the matrix. Again it wouldn't be a lock, but I think 1-1 in conference tourney and 1 of those team likely slips up in their first game opening the door.

If Syracuse or Wake Forest lose their first ACC tourney game then I would put Tennessee above them. If Rhode Island doesn't make the A10 championship game I would put Tennessee above them. If Illinois State loses to Wichita State in the MVC championship I would give serious consideration to putting Tennessee above them.

In short I basically see 4 spots still up for grabs with a possible 5th in Xavier trending down rapidly, any of those teams slip up and I think a 18-14 Tennessee team would jump them.

I can see all those teams worth making a debate for Expect Wake. They lose their first game of the acc and they still will have a mid 30s rpi. They are in IMO.

dang 24-7 Valpo losing to 9-23 Milwaukee,,another team possibly headed to the NIT...we might be out before the SEC tourney even starts...their RPI is 62

Milwaukee wins...#1 Oakland and #2 Valpo out losing to 9 and 10 seeded Youngstown State and Wisc-Milwaukee

Wake Forest
Syracuse
Rhode Island
Illinois State
---------------------------
Vanderbilt
Kansas State
Illinois
Iowa
Ole Miss

This is what I've got currently, however GT looks like they'll lose to Cuse so they'll be out IMO...

This is interesting. We will get to see who's the better bracketologist between you and Lunardi. He has Vandy moved all the way up to the "last four byes".

He's moved Illinois State to the play-in game. Illinois St. will be the interesting team to follow. They have a couple of bad losses, a terrible SOS, and one good win (Wichita St.).

I think if Vandy loses their first game they're done, if they go 1-1 and are 18-15 they'll be right there but I could see K State or Illinois jumping them.

I like both of those teams resumes less than Vandy's. Kansas State's is really bad but I could be wrong. If there are no tournament upsets, 2 of the 3 could very well get into the tournament.

I just looked at Kansas State's non-conference strength of schedule. 223. Woof on letting them in.

This is what I have now...

Southern Cal
Xavier
Syracuse
Rhode Island
Vanderbilt

Illinois State
Kansas State
Illinois
Iowa
Ole Miss

If Vandy loses to A&M I would move Illinois State back in over them, if they beat A&M but lose to Florida they'll be sweating it IMO...win 2 and they're in no doubt IMO.

well if there was any chance for Georgia Tech to sneak in thats now over...they lost 61-59 to Pitt..probably NIT bound for sure..BracketMatrix has them as a 4 facing 5th seeded Bama

Still shows us a 5 seed. We'd have to win 2 in tourney just to be considered.
Unless we're going to make history as the first sub or 500 to get in.

I forgot about Chaminade. Again.
1 win over GA would get us to 17-16. iowa got in in 2012 with that record.

Syracuse loses in first ACC game to Miami, 18-14 RPI is gonna be around 79-82, gotta think a 18-14 Tennessee team would be in over them...gonna be a long few days for 'Cuse.
