Another idiotic Miami turnover. God they are killing themselves. Pastner will be lucky to walk away with a W, IF they pull this one out.

I don't know what the points off turnover ratio is for Memphis, but it has to be high. Its keeping them in the game.

Horrible offensive sequence by Miami. Should have taken advantage of the defender in the air, drawn the foul and taken the three freebies.

Gotta love being able to wake up at 230am and flipping on espn to see a tight one between central Michigan and Hawaii.

Went to the game last night, great game and good win for Memphis. This team is a very young team but the talent is there and that is 1 reason memphis won. They have to do something about the center they got killed by MIA last on the boards, thats a weakness that Josh has to address and fast. MIA has a good hard playing team, both of these teams play some very good D. that was one of the best parts of the game seeing how both teams played D and they both did. Memphis has a very long road ahead so its grow up time for them, but the talent is overflowing so it will be fun to watch these young men grow up with the big boys the next couple of months.

December they get Miss State and January they get Vanderbilt. I do not expect a victory for them in either contest even though Rick will be missing his best players.

Candy can't play with them on a neutral floor. Candy has to find PG and paint play. Two strong players and others.

We get to see them in a tournament starting Thursday.

People always complain about how hard it is to win in Memorial. Oh well.

"Brad Tinsley recorded the first triple-double in school history and Jeffery Taylor scored a career-high 27 points as Vanderbilt rolled to an 88-47 victory over Presbyterian on Friday night in the season opener for both teams.

Tinsley finished with 11 points, plus career highs of 10 assists and 10 rebounds. His pass that set up Rod Odom's 3-pointer with 4:31 left sealed the feat and sent the Vanderbilt bench into a frenzy. Coach Kevin Stallings quickly called a timeout and Tinsley's teammates mauled him at halfcourt.

The game was well in hand by that point as the Commodores opened with six straight baskets and made 10 of their first 12 shots to take a 24-11 lead with 11:47 left in the first half.

Festus Ezeli had a career-high 14 points and John Jenkins added 10 for Vanderbilt."

Tinsley, Taylor, Ezeli and Jenkins I think makes up more than 2 good players. I think they should also benefit from not waiting around for AJ to do something. AJ is a very talented player, yet they could really benefit from growing as an offense without him. His disappearance against WKU last year was the most frustrating game I watched.

By the way, I thought perhaps Hat was exaggerating the demise of Oklahoma. Even though it is is early, their OT win convinces me he is right about that.

I want to see some more big wins from Kansas State, Texas, Baylor and Kansas (without Selby) before I believe in the Big 12 as a conference that is as good as people are touting it.

Colorado may be worse than Auburn. Oklahoma is not good, and I think you will find plenty of dreck towards the bottom. If you get a stumble from 1 of the 4 teams I mentioned which I think is very likely, you have a league that is supposedly great because of Missou (who I do love watching) and A&M? Really?

Too early for me to say the Big Ten, ACC, Big 12, Big East or SEC can be intelligently ordered. By January I think we can make that call.

St. Mary's is just flat good. Bennett has that thing rolling right now.

As good as last year?

Aside...but I made a killing on St. Mary's last year. I "discovered" them in November and rode them the entire year. I got to the point where I would just take them blind ATS. Whatever it was...they'd cover it (exception: Gonzaga. I was wise to lay off these games. They couldn't rebound with the Zags.). This won't happen again, as they are now more of a household and the point-spread degree of difficulty will increase accordingly.
