Official Game Thread #10 Tennessee vs #7 Purdue

not getting to the rim on that last possession was the biggest mistake of the whole game. at least get to the rim and give yourself a chance to get a put back.

effort looked better, but it's depressing that we couldn't snatch a W in that situation - it was a prime oppy.

The only frustrating part is our continued ability to choke away close games with this combination of players...we need to learn to finish!

Why does Pearl REFUSE to ever call a timeout at the end of a game to set up a play? It seems like we lose so many games in this same fashion. Everyone is talking about Purdue but wait and see, Michigan State will wipe the floor with Purdue this year. I was expecting a whole lot more from TN than what I saw tonight. Very disappointing to me.

Eek....that last play hurts. You have to think that tyler or wayne should get the ball inside there.....why was Wayne that far from the basket? That was an exciting game....too bad we didn't walk away with the W.

I completely agree. I don't mind Chism outside during the course of the game, but with 20 sec. left and only needing 2 to win either Chism or Smith should have the ball inside. I am a Bruce fan, but not having a play set up for them inside is completely ridiculous. Any coach should have a play drawn up for that situation, especially when you just took 2 timeouts back to back and had one in your pocket. You can't take em home with you Bruce!!! This isn't AT&T...you don't get rollover timeouts!

My problem was the 3. All game had been a whistlefest and Wheezy and T Smith have been great at the free throw line, so WHY do you not take it inside for a higher % shot and/or the likely foul call.

There are no moral victories if you're supposed to be a top 10 team.

No one is asking for a moral victory, but our, ahem, 'esteemed colleagues' bemoaning the loss as a harbinger for a terrible season are not only uneducated, but possibly incapable of coherent thought.

Hi... Good to see everyone treating a one point loss to the #6 team in the country in a rational manner.

maybe it's because everyone saw way too many stupid unforced errors by this so-called "experienced" team....looks extremely similar to last year's team....I know it's still early, but still seeing the same things that plagued this team last year....tell me differently if you can....

Get to the rim and your chances are ten times better than Chism jacking up a three. He's not Chris Lofton.

We played against scrub teams up until this point. Purdue was a good measuring stick. Still a lot of work to be done. I saw too many turnovers caused by ourselves and just throwing the ball away. It is going to be inserting to see if we can make some decisions.
B.t.w Does anyone else feel like we have the Les Miles of BB? Honestly there was 13sec left and we had 1 timeout left. anyone taking a 3 is not a good call. I can easily blame this one on the Bruce for not bailing out his players when they need the T.O the most.
