This should be a good convention.
I saw on Morning Joe the GOP received a
50 million dollar government grant to.put the thing on.. More tax payer dollars going to good use, uh.

I suppose the Dems received the same thing.

I just abhor shiz like this. Glorifying the party system is stuff we should be leaving for the Soviets.

I would think that they get all sorts of state and local government concessions because of the cash it brings in to the community.

I know that if it weren't for a work conflict I, for one, would personally be spending as much time as i could in the Tampa Hard Rock poker room fleecing the drunk GOP 'tards of their per diems.

Didn't a hurricane affect the 2008 GOP convention? Gustav or something like that?

I know we're talking about the GOP convention but funny/ironic/typical/sad that the Dem convention is in Bank of America stadium but they are changing the name/hiding the name for the convention.

I don't think it was a danger to actually hit it, but they had to tone down the party atmosphere because it was going to hit Louisiana and GOP didn't like optics of being insensitive to another Katrina. This one is more like needing scuba gear to get to the convention center should it ride up the west coast.

That is business the local government does to bring something this large to their city. Nothing at all wrong with that.

I don't think the GOP or Dems should be using 50 million dollars of tax payer money to stage their convention.
The parties will spend that in 1-2 weeks this fall in advertising.

I still think it's funny that because North Carolina is a right-to-work state the democrats are busing in union labor to work the convention venues.

I now work in a union city and it's amazing the amount of *****ing that people do about the lazy ass, overpriced thugs. People go out of their way to avoid them, but the unions have enough gov't help to continue leeching off of legit businesses.

We moved our main office at 4AM to avoid them. We need to move and have computers up and running by 10 and they couldn't accommodate because they don't work before 9. I'm astounded that anyone puts up with it.

Simply amazing.

I had a grievance filed against me at my old job when I moved offices. Literally, because I moved my computer two doors down from where I was. I was formally counseled on the matter. The whole thing was ridiculous because there was a union to move the office, and a separate one to move my computer. Per union rules the computer couldn't be moved until the office was moved...or some silliness. I don't know, all I wanted to do was get my damn computer hooked up for a jump start on my new position.

Biden speaking the first day of the rnc down in tampa is a new low and a shows lack of respect and class. They need to stream him on a big screen and play the woody woodpeCker music to his words.

They didn't understand that I was hiring and didn't give a crap about their sensitivities. We moved to a downtown high rise and those folks have methods. The GM laughed at them and made some extra change for his guys, who were happy to start at 4.

Had the exact same experience - one arm of the union delivered the computer, a different one took it out of the box and put it where you wanted it, a third did the hook up. Figure about a week from delivery to functionality. You do any of those steps and you get written up - taking jobs away.

He's crashing the convention? Or going to the same city ? Bit of a difference.

Not that you care.

Let's see - did I mean he was actually busting into the convention and grabbing the mic? No.

He's holding an event in the same city as the convention during the convention - I'm not aware of that ever being done by the opposing party (although I could be wrong). Has it been done before?

You're a fan of presidential protocol (e.g. tax form release) shouldn't both sides follow protocol?

Keep trying to dodge it. Who knows ? By election time maybe you'll come up with a reasonable argument.
