Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Yep. Me in Boston.

It was either there or Houston. Houston is not a viable option at this point.

Houston is terrible (current circumstances aside). As far as visiting, it rarely gets better than Boston. Lots of history, great food, and badass architecture.

As a UT fan, I don't like Bama. But as a NCAA football fan, i am simply tired of Bama...i got a bad case of BF...Bama Fatigue.

Me too....... I'm sick of Saban.... I'm sick of Hurts.... sick of their bald headed strength coach..... tired of their fans.... they make me sick to my stomach.

:)

I'm going to behave while up there.

I've been talking/seeing a woman for almost a month. It seems to be going very well.

You have a blowup doll that talks back?

Damn, I'm behind the times. You rock OB.

I'm thanking our lucky stars we don't play Texas A&M this 2017 football year.

They putting a world of hurt on UCLA right now & that's at UCLA....

UCLA also has been a train wreck waiting to happen for a couple of years. And don't forget, Sumlin is playing for his job this year.

Sorry to hear about your boy from steely dan, lg

Oh hey, see it now. Yeah, he was something else. Teamed with Fagen they had a bunch of hits, some will know, some folks don't necessarily associate with them.

Deacon Blues
Rikki Don't Lose That Number
Do It Again
Peg
Hey 19
My Old School
Reeling In The Years
Kid Charlemagne
FM
Josie
Babylon Sisters

Lesser known personal favorites include

Time Out of Mind
Pretzel Logic
Aja
Bhodisatva
Black Cow
Chain Lightning
Royal Scam
Greenflower Street
Caves of Altamira

Many others.

I saw them about 8 or 10 times starting in 2000 when they toured again. Last was in October. Went up to NYC and caught one of their album shows.

I'm not sure folks realize how influential they were on other musicians. Kanye West sampled them recently. Jimmy Page has lauded them and some of the guitar solos in their contemporaneous music, though they had such different styles.

Fagen says he will continue with the modern version of the band. And I did see him just a few weeks ago here in Orlando, with a new band he's doing a few shows with and they played a lot of their stuff.

If you haven't seen either Steely Dan proper, or Fagen solo, and you are a fan of musicianship, tight bands that work hard, and clever lyrics, don't wait.

:banghead2: A&M just let them run down the field for two scores?? Let'em make it look more respectful on the scoreboard I guess?? A&M needs to keep piling it on.

And those dumbasses are trying to throw the ball instead of running it that's been working all night.
