Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Havent even checked the condition of the FF...dont really care.

I am in a good mood today though. I predicted since the end of last year that we would go 9-3. If we handle our business at Vandy, we finish 10-2 with a decent shot at the playoffs. Better than I had hoped for.

Our VOLS have exceeded my expectations. Nico is improving and has had a good season for a freshman QB , had a good enough game to beat UGA last night. He didnt miss throws. He hit guys in the hands, lead them properly, ran for some crucial 1st downs, and ran for his life most of the night including the whole 2nd half. Usually OUR Dline dominates the 2nd half...instead, theirs did. Our Oline got tired....Heard and Spraggins REALLY struggled IMO. Hope they heal up before Vandy. We are gonna have to hit the portal HARD on the Oline and Dline to make a playoff run next year. We have talent on both...but they arent ready yet.

Anyway. GO VOLS. We control only 2 things. Winning these games. Lets win em both and see where the cards fall.

Had some BVS flare up last night, but I'm feeling better today. It definitely helps that my birthday is today, lol.

As long as we are playing GA and Bama yearly - at least until something significant happens to any of the programs, I'm considering the away game a probable loss and the home game potentially a win. We haven't proved that we can beat GA in Neyland yet. Assuming Bama doesn't collapse before next year, I'd tend to pencil in two losses but hope somebody in the coaching staff gets a handle on playing GA. Bama may no longer be the solid year in year out team it was; we'll see with time. One thing for sure is that we probably can't beat those teams and the refs. It's not so much the penalties as it is the calls that a catch was a catch or not - or a fumble was a fumble or not - the things that kill or let a drive continue. And then there's the holding crap; football needs to pull it's head out of the azz and decide whether it is a thing or we'll just forget all about it, but this half azzed approach to holding is nonsense.

This is probably posted somewhere in the FF...i didnt go looking for it after a loss. Too much shtupid concentrated in there right now for my taste...

Nothing surprising really. Our Oline played really poorly as usual...OTackles ALL graded out in the 40s again which means "should never be on the field, no way they start next year". Campbell will be gone regardless, but Heard is just a waaaaaay overpaid sophomore that has killed this team all year. Was surprised Spraggins graded out as high as he did...he played every snap and there were guys running thru the gaping hole at Right Guard all night. There were 2 snaps in a row where Spraggins took 2 quick steps to his left (in front of Cooper) to put his hands on a LB who may or may not have intended to blitz on a called pass play....and the UGA DTackle ran straight thru the hole Spraggins left when he moved to chase Nico down immediately when the ball was snapped. Maybe PFF counts that as a "win" for Spraggins because he did put his hands on somebody....but he also left a gaping hole immediately when the ball was snapped that nearly got Nico killed and resulted in drive killing plays. Time to punt. Our entire Oline sucked balls in this game, sure yall noticed. The RBs couldnt block either, Sampson barely chipped a blitzer who then crushed Nico for a drive killing sack...and Lewis was absolutely horrific blocking as freshman usually are. Both ran well though at least ...

On defense, we didnt get pressure. Zero knockdowns, zero sacks, only 2 TFLs in the game. Never once hit Beck. Never. Cant beat UGA like that. They were in "max protect" for their 1st two drives...then realized we couldnt pressure them and went wide open on offense. Our entire defensive backfield AND linebackers were eaten alive over the middle. The entire game. If we cannot fix that before Vandy....we will get beat. Pavia will tear us to pieces. Brooks and Boo and Turrentine ALL got picked on as safeties in the middle of the field. The LBs were even worse. Look at their grades. Whats worrisome from a playoff perspective is that McCoy played at an ALL SEC level for the first 7 games....but the last 3 games by him are 3/4 worst all year. He may be hurt? Not sure. He was benched for the entire drive though on UGAs 2nd or 3rd scoring drive. McMurray played i. His spot while he stood next to Martinez on the sideline. Maybe because of that poor hit on the WR where he didnt even use his arms to try and wrap up...the play where we had 3DBs in the immediate area where the ball was thrown vs 2 WRs, McCoy put a shoulder in the guy and he just kept running. Was an explosive 30+ yard play that killed us. Defense just couldnt get off the field. 3 GA drives over 80 yards long.

Welp, gotta flush this one and move on. Get ready for UTEP. Need to work on pass defense over the middle badly though. GO VOLS

Excellent post to remember the miracle which took place that night.

Although, it isn't without conspiracy theories. One of the most popular was the co pilot wasn't even a licensed pilot. Some use photographs obtained as proof he was really an NBA player for the Lakers.

and you can't forget the other pilot who got a BJ on the job during the whole incident.

Being single at damn near 50 after 20 years of marriage is weird as hell. Kids are grown, wife is gone. I’m like a dog who escaped the yard and just sitting at the fence confused lol.
A buddy of mine divorced a few years ago at that age. He still hasn’t dated and doesn’t plan to…. He said he likes being able to do what he wants to do when he wants to do it too much.
I suggested he start having real hump days every 3rd Wednesday of the month. I told him he could probably make it happen for $500

Joey - "I think you're the greatest, but my dad says you don't work hard enough, especially on defense. And he says lots of times you don't even run down the court or even try...unless it's the playoffs."
