275K lbs..holy smokes.. Why so much in your industry?

Kinda where I was leading..it has that jelly in it to keep it from evaporating quickly. Like one of them jelly bombs.

Client has stores all over the country and 4 distribution warehouses. They did what a lot of retailers did in 2020, stocked up on the stuff and got left hanging with it. They couldn't find a place to take it so they asked for my help. Between .32 and .60 cents per lbs to get rid of the stuff is what I've found.

One needs to do experiment and tape it this weekend. Heck everyone can use a Fire Starter for the BBQ,,wood burning etc.

I gotta open up my calculator app now..say $.50/lb that is like $137,000 dollars to dispose of hand sanitizer. Woof.

I mean, it's alcohol. Does the stuff really "expire" for lack of a better term?

Lots of different alcohol. Who is our resident chemist on here?
Maybe we can drink it now or at least use it in our vehicles.

I'm pretty sure it's ethanol. Maybe denatured, not sure.

It just seems like a scam honestly. "Expires on" is a good way of keeping it sold.

I had a sidewall blow out on the right front tire on I-40 this afternoon in Memphis.
Got out to look & the tire was off the rim. I had to stop once I realized I was driving on the rim. Happened about 2-3 miles East of the Germantown North/South Exit. About 3-4 minutes after this happened, a TDOT truck pulled up behind me & changed my flat tire & put the spare on for free. The truck he was in was a program made for TN called "Highway Incident Response Team". They travel the interstate & help with stranded drivers w/flats & car troubles. I'd never heard of the program before until they helped me today.

I've seen them around a bit, but not the time I had a flat on the interstate.

They are called H.E.R.O. units in Atlanta. See them all the time everyday. Smart use of taxpayer money.

State farm insurance pays for the NCDOT response teams here...same deal. I ran out of gas on the interstate and called *HP for the IMAP /highway patrol and they came and brought a gas can. When he pulled up behind me on the shoulder with errbody running 70ish past us, i jumped out and met him at my gas tank. He nicely told me to get back in the truck, due to liability issues they werent allowed to have the driver risk their lives out of the vehicle...just him. Lol ....i tryed to give him some lunch money but he wouldn't take it. Handed me a little card with his name and the hotline/website and said if i was happy with the help then maybe leave a review on the site. I pretty much got him on the waiting list for a nobel prize and a medal or 2 from the feds with the review i wrote for the guy. Was the least that i could do. In truth tho...he was about 3 feet away from cars running 70 and up despite me pulling as far off the road as i could . Thats a very, very dangerous job with people texting, FB, drugs and drink, eating, you name it while they drive...

This guy who helped me gave me a pamplet that explains the details of this State program & wrote down on it to dial * 847 needing help when stranded on the side of the road.
I didn't have time to ask him about this number. I don't know if this is only for the West TN area or if it covers the whole state of TN. I'm real happy about this TDOT program.

After changing a tire on the interstate and as far over as I could get, I'm a big believer in moving over if possible when I see a car on the shoulder. I think the incident response teams are one of the best ideas in a while - worth whatever we pay for them.

This has to be the dumbest, most stupid, imbecilic article of the day. If you bought a male to male extension cord on Amazon, hint hint they're dangerous. This article makes it sound like every extension cord they sold is dangerous. When I was working, we called these "suicide cords" and we had to make them, but they were needed occasionally to test things.

Extension cords sold on Amazon should 'immediately' be thrown away, CPSC says
